Markem is a deity overseeing the portfolio of Travel (and possibly other things). The specific results of this that will concern us are that they traditionally have included a military component to protect travelers, a medical component to care for the sick and injured, especially those away from their homes, and an archival component to collect maps and traveler’s tales, because travels not remembered are as though they had not occurred. The temple of Husbaleve can be one of the ones that has been overrun.
