A game of teenage superheroes using Magpie Games' Masks: a New Generation, MC is DannyK

"Laws: We know what they are, and what they are worth! They are spider webs for the rich and mighty, steel chains for the poor and weak, fishing nets in the hands of government.”

—French social theorist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (1809-1865), voicing his “Authority Principle,” in No Gods, No Masters: An Anthology of Anarchism (1980)

The Team

Civilians

Carmen Sotomayor Tormentosan restaurant owner and Bell’s friend. Father of Ricky with an unnamed villain.

Patrick Quinn The doctor who is helping Quicksilver with her nanite issue.

Hayley Brick’s best friend from before who’s still friends with the new improved version.

Glen Jacobs News blogger at a sensational news site called "The Spotlight" who is too good at digging up secrets for his own good, or the Squad's.

Professor Graham Bell's mentor back in the 70's. He doesn't seem to be around any more, but maybe he's alive? He was in his 30's in the 70's... that makes him how old?

Reva Singh Director at the Halcyon Antiquities Museum

Players

Rosa Rook CEO of Rook Industries.

Allies

Diamond Gem’s disembodied mentor. Respected female super who died years ago, maybe at the hands of Ambassador Bell.

Criminals

' Bell’s older self. She killed Diamond, worked for Aegis, did a lot of stuff.

Criminal Organizations

The Spiderweb Organization, La Tela

  • Airsmith = Leader and air-aspected. Creates solid constructs from air.
  • Quake-King = Earth-aspected. Generates shockwaves through the ground, and can slowly mold earth into desired shapes (walls, barriers).
  • Sinder = Fire-aspected. Joined after Diamond's disappearance. Absorbs fire and uses that to buff her toughness, endurance, and strength. Has minimal redirection capability for fire.
  • Greenknight = Life-aspected. Joined after Diamond's disappearance. For people and animals, he heals; for plants, he promotes growth (or kills them); for the ground, he can increase or decrease fertility.
  • Aquifier = Water-aspected. Hydrokinetic.

Pavone Crime Family Bronze age super-team of enhanced vigilante types that fought Shrapnel

  • Overkill (team leader, military training, boosted senses and regeneration)
  • Collateral (explosive energy blasts; probably the one responsible for Shrapnel's injury)
  • Hardcase (inbuilt armour; increased strength and toughness)
  • Switchblade (increased reflexes and retractable blades; hospitalised when Shrapnel tore out her cybernetic implants)

Locations

Gem’s Hidden Base (with Security System)

It's rundown a bit due to 8 years of no repair, but Gem is working on getting everything functional-ish. The security system was the easiest, as it already had some self-repair properties. The lounge, at least, is nice with mis-matched old sofas and thick quilts that Gem picks up at the occasional yard sale.
