The elite division of the army of the state of Zhao, the Golden Crane, is led by the illustrious General Dao Leng, the brother of the Duke of Zhao and the rumoured student of the Master of the Seven Winds, old Mei Mei. The Wildflower Coalition is still a very new thing and looked askance by the states as either a band of upstart fools or an affront to their power. General Dao, at the insistence of his brother, leads his famed army to the edges of Zhao, where three prominent members of the Coalition - the tribe of the Mingdao, the Ushi people and the horse traders of Yaomin - have recently formed a proto-state, calling themselves the Three Goats.
The Golden Crane engages the ragtag army of the Three Goats. All involved expect the Goats to scatter and run, return to their measly homes beyond the lakes and the mountains. Of course, that does not happen. Heroes, one from each of the peoples, perform magnificent, story-worthy deeds and it all ends in the utter rout of the Golden Crane, the disgrace and later death of General Dao and eventually the fragmentation of Zhao into splinter-states that are soon gobbled up by hungry neighbours. This Event does a lot towards giving credence to the Wildflower Coalition and its goals. The Tone is Light, because the little guys successfully stood up to the big guy and beat him down.
