Morturi Te Salutant: Main Page -> Morturi: Premade Gladiators -> Premade Faction Gladiators (Political)

Akakios, Greek Volunteer[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Funditores Auxilliary / The Legions / Light
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 250 Denarii for 1 month. Reserve price 125 Denarii.
  • Features: Sling;
  • Tricks: Co-ordinated Action; Discretion over Valour; Target Weak Spot;
  • Bio: Supplementing his feeble military income with his gladiatorial license, Akakios is in love with the games almost as much as he is in love with the army. He has often been mocked for "wishing to be Roman" - a charge that in truth he cannot deny.

Lucius Cornelius Macro, Legio II Augusta[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Centurion / The Legions / Medium
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 4000 Denarii for one battle only. Reserve price 2000 Denarii. However, on any battle where you field Macro you may gain Quintus Licinius Cato(Optio) and four Legionnaires of Novicius rank for free, and any or all of them may be fielded with Macro in that battle. Each of the Novicius Legionnaires has two tricks of your choice.
  • Features: Orders; Scutum; Veterans;
  • Tricks: "Advance!"; "Kill them all!"; "Shields up!"; "Volley fire!"; Will to Live;
  • Bio: On temporary leave of absence, Macro can't resist earning some extra cash in the arena. Technically its against the rules, but who's going to argue?

Titus Pullo[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Legionnaire / The Legions / Light
  • Rank: Primus Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 1000 Denarii for 3 months. Reserve price 500 Denarii.
  • Features: Scutum;
  • Tricks: Combat Control; Co-ordinated Action; Fling Dart; Formation Fighting; Military Training; Warrior Discipline; Will to Live;
  • Bio: A superb soldier, discharged from the army for unknown reasons, Pullo likes to think himself a natural lone warrior, but actually is most effective when fielded alongside fellow soldiers.

Quintus Licinius Cato, Legio II Augusta[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Optio / The Legions / Medium
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Not for hire! Follows Macro (see above).
  • Features: Orders; Scutum;
  • Tricks: Chain of Command; "Double time!"; Formation Fighting; Will to Live;
  • Bio: Young for an Optio, and rumoured to be of the patrician classes, Quintus is not yet well liked by the men, but Centurion Macro has recognised his command qualities, and the two are close friends...

Lucius Calpurnius Regulus, Devotee of Zeus[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Fanatic Dialis / The Temple / Medium
  • Rank: Palus.
  • Auction: Start at 1000 Denarii. Reserve price 500 Denarii.
  • Features: Battle Prayer; Forbidden from Arms;
  • Tricks: Chosen of the Gods; Eye of Fear; Inspiration of Jupiter;
  • Bio: Once a rising star in the temple hierarchy, Lucius accidentally mislaid a precious ivory torc belonging to the Flamen Dialis. Filled with guilt, he sold himself into slavery, sending the proceeds directly to the Flamen.

Titus Calidus Martius, Spearbrother[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Fanatic Martialis / The Temple / Medium
  • Rank: Palus.
  • Auction: Start at 1000 Denarii. Reserve price 500 Denarii.
  • Features: Battle Prayer;
  • Tricks: Chosen of the Gods; Inspiration of Jupiter; Warrior Discipline;
  • Bio: Once an ordiary Murmillo, Titus saw Mars in a vision, and informed his Lanista that from now on he would be fighting in the War God's name, as his chosen servant. The Lanista, ever a godsfearing man, saw no reason not to capitalise on this by outfitting Titus as a Fanatic, and spreading word of the holy warrior in his school's midst.

Julius Petronius Malleolus, Blacksmith[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Fanatic Vulcanis / The Temple / Heavy
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 100 Denarii for one battle. Reserve price 50 Denarii.
  • Features: Battle Prayer; Fully Armoured;
  • Tricks: Hardened armour; Tempered armour; Will to Live;
  • Bio: A Blacksmith by trade, Julius fully believes that Vulcan has commanded him to test his battle-gear in battle proper. As he has no intention of enlisting or becoming a wandering killer, he obeys by entering the arena.

Gnaea Minia, Cult Priestess[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Fanatic Volturnus / The Temple / Light
  • Rank: Palus.
  • Auction: Start at 1000 Denarii. Reserve price 500 Denarii.
  • Features: Battle Prayer;
  • Tricks: Chosen of the Gods; Samnite Cult; Samnite Superstition;
  • Bio: Samnites are a superstittious bunch, and when a slave girl (presented to them for pleasure) was noted to have a birthmark resembling a samnite helm, they decided she must be a chosen of the gods. The lanista bought her up there and then, and word has spread across the city. Even Gnaea now believes herself to a patron prophet for Samnites, and often hears the words of Volturnus in her mind.

The Bull born of Earth[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Bull of Mithras / Cult of Mithras / Heavy
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 1 Denarii for 1 battle. Reserve price 1 Denarii.
  • Features: Web of Secrets;
  • Tricks: Charging Bull; Sacrificial Bull; Toe to toe;
  • Bio: It unnerves Lanistas somewhat when an Auctoritatius does not seem to place any value on either his life or his services. Still, who can resist a bargain, eh?

The Cilician[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Keeper of the Seventh Element / Cult of Mithras / Heavy
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 1 Denarii for 1 battle. Reserve price 1 Denarii.
  • Features: Web of Secrets;
  • Tricks: Coerced Absence; Secret Debt; Sign of the Taurus;
  • Bio: The Cilician smiles too much. No Gladiator should smile that much as he enters the arena. Lanistas often get the feeling that they are not so much hiring the Cilician as helping him facilitate his own plans.

The Calabrian[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Secret Master of Mysteries / Cult of Mithras / Medium
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Start at 100 Denarii for 1 battle. Reserve price 100 Denarii.
  • Features: Mysterious Absence; Web of Secrets;
  • Tricks: Corax Mystery; Nymphus Mystery;
  • Bio: Any relief a Lanista might feel in meeting a Mithraic who actually seems to value money and want to be paid to enter the arena will soon disappear when they realise the Calabrian wants to be paid to walk into the arena for a few seconds, then leave again before the first blow is struck! Yet, for some reason the Calabrian keeps getting hired, much to the confusion of the uninitiated.

The Enactor of the Heliodromus[edit]

  • Role/Faction/Class: Sun Runner / Cult of Mithras / Light
  • Rank: Palus. Auctoritatius.
  • Auction: Not for hire! Offers services in any battle where one Lanista fields both the Calabrian and the Cilician.
  • Features: Web of Secrets;
  • Tricks: Burning Brand; Circuit of Sol Invictus; Light mobility;
  • Bio: Turning up with a burning torch on the eve of the games, the Enactor will demand a place in the arena. Any lanista that has embraced the strangeness of the Cult of Mithras is unlikely to turn him away at this stage...
