Welcome to the wiki for Requiem for the Gods!

Characters[edit]

Retired Characters[edit]

  • Talabrina Lelan, drow princess
  • Ayvava uvi-Uhliavan, giant spider druid

The Story So Far[edit]

Our heroes died, each on their own world. In some cases, their world died with them, victim of apocalypse, war of the gods, or other colossal misfortune. They awoke again, healed of all injuries, and possessing strange powers. They can understand all languages, written or spoken, and pick up new concepts and skills with amazing facility. Each also bore a sign upon their right palm: a circle, etched in metallic gray.

It seems they have been chosen - by Fate, or something else - for some great purpose.

Curnorost[edit]

A strange, bitter place: known as the Realm of Dead Angels, carpeted with the armor and weapons of the Heavenly Hosts. Here, our heroes encountered the mysterious person known as Corvus, who traded them information. Equipping themselves with weapons from the Field of Broken Avengers, they made there way to the central and only building in the place: the Citadel of Eternal Memories. This building was presided over by a giant angelic figure who called himself the Recorder. It was he who explained that many worlds had fallen to primordial chaos, and the meaning of the mark on their palms. It represented the Adamant Circle, an ancient artifact said to predate the gods themselves.

Faraenyl[edit]

A magical faerieland, Faraenyl is a place where the four seasons are physical nations rather than annual events. Our heroes emerged in the Land of Summer and made their way to the court of Cumnhall, King of Summer, where they learned that the artifact they sought was last seen in possession of Arawn Death-Lord, ancient Lord of Fall. After enduring three tests by the Summer King, after which they were given faerie gifts, they made their way to the Land of Fall.

In Fall, they encountered the werewolf Wyliwr as they traveled to the ancient graveyard that held Arawn's mortal remains. After fighting the Nazi blood mage Vollmacher and a hostile encounter with the wolf-lord Canem, they rode with the Barrow Wraiths and thus earned the right to approach Arawn's tomb. The undead king allowed them to take the Adamant Circle, and Seiran claimed it.

The Artifacts[edit]

The Adamant Circle

A perfectly circular ring made of a grey-black metal, big enough to fit around a human head. The edge of the circle is sharp enough to cut through almost any material, and seems to be practically indestructible. It could be used as a weapon, but only an attuned user can wield it without having their fingers cut off, as the blade seems to shift around the wielder's grasp to prevent injury to them. Most importantly, however, is the Circle's ability to 'cut' through dimensions and create a hole for the user to transport themselves across distances (functions as per the Teleport spell, Savage Worlds Deluxe edition, p. 118), or can be used to travel across various universes (similar to the Subtle Knife from the His Dark Materials trilogy).

The Adamant Circle was obtained in the world of Faerenyl from the tomb of Arawn, the ancient King of Winter. Arawn has hinted that its existence predates even the world of Faerenyl.

The Burning Brand

A twisted length of wood with burning embers at its tip, the Brand can burst into golden flame like a bright torch, its light bringing hope and courage, and driving back fear and despair.

The Blade

The Circlemarked currently bear upon their palms the sign of the Blade: a simple sword, or perhaps a large knife, bronze in hue.

The Book

The Book is another of the artifacts mentioned in the library of Summer as being associated with the Adamant Circle, though its true nature is unknown.

The Others[edit]

Canem A great, wolf-like creature that walks upright like a man. He preaches rule by the strong, a savage, violent order, but also demonstrates a degree of honor and loyalty to his followers.

Corvus A one-eyed man, apparently human, of crow-like aspect. He wears black robes and carries a staff, and one eye is replaced by a metallic sphere. He has demonstrated great knowledge and magical power, and is a self-confessed trader of information; he is willing to deal with almost anyone if they have valuable information to trade. He has been willing to accept obscure personal information in exchange for questions answered.

Claudia Bouquet Leila's mother, an ancient vampire queen. A mage who has been studying the arcane arts for thousands of years. She generally desires two things. To acquire power, be it magical or political. And to have her estranged daughter return to her side. Somehow, she survived the destruction of her home world, and continues in her machinations, now on a multiversal scale.

She's quite willing to help the heroes. After all, heroes who owe you a favor can be quite useful.

Reikert Vollmacher

Sturmbannführer Reikert Vollmacher is a blood mage, and was a member of the infamous Nazi paramilitary organization known as the Schutzstaffel during WW2, where he served as part of the Ahnenerbe, the German occult research organization. During that time he became a personal nemesis to US Army Ranger Captain Mark Drecker, Sgt. Wilson's unit commander. After their 'deaths', Wilson inherited the emnity with Vollmacher, with Vollmacher seeking greater power among the various worlds.

Reikert Vollmacher is an arrogant and cruel individual, firmly entrenched in the National Socialist mindset of Aryan superiority. He does not hesitate to treat pawns as disposable if they do not meet his strict standards - namely being pure Aryan Übermenschen. As a blood mage, Vollmacher is a dangerous and powerful spellcaster, one who can draw upon magic powers by blood sacrifices and blasphemous rites.

Camilla A jet-black woman with enormous wings, she holds herself apart from the others, including the Circlemarked. First found standing watch over the Burning Brand, she claims to be present for deaths and great transformations. She shows no signs of hostility toward the others, not even Vollmacher. Whatever she is or was, it is clear that she was never a mortal; mortal ways are a mystery to her, and she is willing to trade information for personal displays and amusements.
