’Do I work for the Black Tower? Don’t make me laugh, sunshine! Let me tell you a little somethin’. If I worked for the Black Tower you’d be dead for knowin’ it an’ I’d be dead for admittin’ it.” - Len the Murk, con artist extraordinaire.

The Black Tower is one of the most powerful, pervading and resourceful organisations anywhere on the Material Plane and yet the number of people who know of its existence is in the hundreds rather than the hundreds of thousands. Thousands of creatures across all the worlds act in its interests and for its operatives without even knowing it. Anywhere there’s been an audacious robbery, a monumental scam or an excess of espionage chances are that if you trace the chain of those involved high enough, you’ll find a member of the Black Tower. It is an organisation of thieves, robbers, assassins, masterminds, mountebanks, fraudsters and backstabbers that serves only to further it’s own riches and harvest the secrets and valuable treasures of the worlds.

However, such concerns are far from the mind of a group of adventurers thrust into the middle of a war between primitive humans and an army of steel. Survival is the name of the game but where there is the opportunity for great gain, the Black Tower is always watching…

Spire of Knives is a 3.5 edition D&D campaign being run on RPOL.net. The action is based around a group of morally flexible player characters and is primarily a scoundrel campaign, rife with deceit, trickery, robbery and murder.

Well, that’s the plan.

The campaign has not started yet but, when it does, this will be a resource for the players where they can come to find out details of places, people, organizations, events and more.
