Ali Farouk (aka The Fist of Maat)[edit]

Ali had a good job at the Cairo Marriott working hotel security when the maelstrom bridge dropped onto the Egyptian capitol. Like many of his fellow citizens he was transformed by the axiom wash, adopting a new perspective and faith to match their new world. At first life didn't change too much for Ali at the hotel despite how drastically reality had been altered. But he soon found that he couldn't just stand idly by as crime and corruption grew around him. Deciding to act, he made a makeshift costume for himself and went out into the night to fight for justice. He had a few early successes, including a spectacular victory against one local mobster.

That last victory almost cost Ali his life. The mobster's gang set a trap for Ali. The hero managed to escape their ambush but only by plunging into the NIle after being badly injured. It was a miracle that he didn't drown or get eaten by crocodiles. Perhaps quite literally a miracle considering what happened next. Carried far from the city, Ali washed up next to a temple on the Nile's banks. Stumbling his way inside in the hope of finding a priest who can help him, he discovered the place was a deserted ruin. Exhausted by his ordeal, he collapsed to the floor and slept.

In his dreams Ali saw the temple as it was in its heyday, pristine and replete with splendor. As he explored the restored edifice he encountered a woman. Somehow he was immediately aware she was no mere mortal. Greeting him by name, she introduced herself as Maat, Goddess of Harmony. She revealed to him that the Amaatism brought by Pharoh Mobius was a garbled distortion of The Truth. That Osiris rose from his death and that far from being an impersonal concept of order, she was a living force for Justice. A force that had chosen him to be her champion. She proclaimed that Ali would live to continue his heroic career as THE FIST OF MAAT!

That morning Ali awoke to find himself fully healed. Not only that but he intuitively knew that he had been blessed with the gift to be unseen, for the Wicked do not realize Justice is upon them until it is too late. He made his way back to Cairo and continued his war against evil. During his campaign he was recruited by the Mystery Men, which led to him aiding the Delphi Council. Soon he found himself fighting more dangerous opponents than mobsters and their goons. As his opponents grew more formidable, so did his patron's blessings. The power to strike terror in his foes and work literal miracles were bestowed upon him. Eventually he found himself not only fighting the good fight in Egypt but all over the world, bringing justice to all who need it in the Possibility Wars.
