Samantha "Sam" Eddy's entire family are lily white Conservatives who don't give a damn about the poor and the downtrodden, but Samedi somehow got in there anyways, because her biological Father is really into weird alternative medicine bullshit, and the Baron thought it's hilarious for a buncha white folks to bear his child. Sam is trans, pan, and generally queer as fuck, so she didn't get along with her biological family at all; when it became clear that her family wasn't gonna support her transition, she ran away and began couch surfing while trying to make it as a punk rocker, with enough success to keep her on hormones as long as she doesn't have to pay rent. She's ecstatic to find Samedi as the awesome Dad she always wanted, and is eager to become part of the extended family of Loas.

Words[edit]

Death[edit]

May command undead presence as an action, ordering up to one Mob of any size; Greater undead get a Spirit saving throw to resist, and cannot be commanded to self-destruct; as an On Turn action, may know the details of what, where, and how anything died or is dying within 100 feet of them.

Health[edit]

Have an invincible defense against diseases and poisons, and can diagnose them instantly.

Music[edit]

Have an invulnerable immunity to the sounds they generate being muted, even by gagging or the physical excision of vocal cords, and may summon any musical instrument used as an On Turn action; may produce music at will without interfering with any other actions.

Gifts[edit]

Reaping Word[edit]

(Action) Commit Effort for the scene and choose a target at any range. A gesture suffices if you can see the target, otherwise you must use a name they consider their own true name. Lesser foes drop dead and cannot be revived without your permission. Worthy foes require the Effort be committed to the end of the day and are allowed a Hardiness saving throw to resist. Furthermore, worthy foes must be injured in order to let Death reach them; even a single point of damage is enough.

Withholding the Mercy[edit]

(Constant) Those reduced to zero hit dice or hit points within 200 feet of you automatically stabilize or die as your wish. If you desire it, willing living creatures at zero HD or hit points around you may continue to act for as many rounds as you have levels before they unavoidably fall dead.

Lifegiver[edit]

(Constant) Allies in your presence automatically stabilize at zero hit dice or hit points provided their bodies aren’t torn to pieces. As an action, Commit Effort for the day to revive an ordinary mortal creature from death if they’ve been dead less than a day and some part of their corpse remains intact. Godbound and other mighty entities cannot be revived.

Shriek of Twisted Metal[edit]

(On Turn) Commit Effort. Your voice or music becomes a weapon doing 1d10 base emotional damage with a range up to 200 feet. Against rigid inanimate objects such as glass, metal, stone, or ceramics, your voice does straight damage and can make a human-sized hole one foot deep per level for each round's use. This does not affect objects worn or used by a creature.
