Very well-funded. Founded in 1927-28. Run by a Board of Directors. Finance Parkhurst Foundation. Have majority stake in newswire service. Operate several small radio stations in Midwest. Fund group called Agricultural Services who do a lot of work fighting the Dust Bowl — education, outreach. Run American Savings & Loan focused on keeping people in houses and on farms. (No connection to Kansas Savings & Loan) Funding is opaque; throwing lots of money, but no obvious source of income — operations are decidedly not source of revenue.
