SYNOPSIS

Washed up in Fortaleza, prosperous trading city and dwarf fortress of the Viriathean Empire, a likely crew of ne'er do wells are released from the city's dungeon to aid the influential Dona Isabella Garza, a spooky elven member of the gentry with a reputation for shrewd investments and with few scruples collecting the returns.

As well as freedom, a bounty of 500 shillings is promised for the return - dead or alive- of the Dona's absconded husband Don Alonso Garza. The authorities want him on a charge of necromancy, but given he's skipped the border into the war-torn, pox-riven Ruins, their appetite to pursue him has reached its apparent limits. Not so his wife, hence the bounty.
