Editing Ulther Grimlison

Ulther is from Karak Hirn in the Black Mountains. His father Grimli is a miner, as was his older brother Kethis. Their home was always hard-pressed by the goblinoid races, making for a life where fighting was as common as mining. Years ago, Kethis was caught in a mine collapse and knocked unconscious. Goblins came boiling through and attacked unexpectedly. After they were repulsed, Kethis' body was discovered and rescued by the dwarves. While he recovered from his injuries, he was ultimately blamed for the invasion. He was convicted of mining in an area he shouldn't have, not paying attention to the signs that there were goblins nearby, causing the cave-in, not warning the enclave of the invasion, and aiding the goblins in their invasion. Branded a traitor, the family was fined heavily, and he was outcast, taking up the role of a trollslayer. Years of living with the stigma of a traitor in the family took their toll, and Grimli finally died leaving Ulther alone. He decided to venture forth to make a new life, and took up residence with the humans who were gaining an ascendent position in the world. Keeping an eye out for his brother, he eventually learned something of the Temple of Verena. They accepted him in spite of his being a dwarf, and gave him work as a watchman. Their stance on justice appealed to the idealistic Ulther, and he appreciates having such a group watching his back. He looks forward to making the world a better place, and hopes to someday be reunited with his brother.
