I had grown distraught by the loss of yet another player to the game, as Sebastien's work schedule had changed and he was mo longer available on Tuesday nights. So, unfortunately, we continued without him and I hoped to pick up a couple more players in the future.

Sadly, this session note is written a couple of weeks after this session, for which I apologize to my players and anyone interested in their escapades.

This session opened with Erinyes walking in on Carlos tending to the unconcious and clearly beaten Kokori. Unsure as to what had happened she again tryed to banshee scream at him and catch him flat footed, but was entirely unsuccessful in doing anything but making the Ork Adept even angrier. Carlos then took the flats from Erinyes and berated her before returning to his wounded charge.

Nexx had left in an attempt to obtain a van or other suitable gettaway vehicle, but due to unexpected events soon called from what seemed to be the middle of a fire fight. Carlos and Yuri were forced to leave the unconcious Kokori in the dubious hands of Mr. Bluesky, and meanwhile Erinyes attempted to hack Mitsuhama in order to obtain more information on Kokori and her father.

Erinyes attempted at strong arming her way into Mitsuhama was only mildly successful as she got a little info that had basically been provided by the Johnson anyway. She was then caught by the resident IC programs and forced to retreat.

Carlos and Yuri had a much more interesting time however as they made their first introductions to a group of Ancients youths who had decided they didn't like Nexx attempting to steal their van. The fight didn't last long after Yuri hit them with a lightening ball. Carlos proceeded to make quick work of the gang youths while Yuri attempted successfully to get himself shot and knocked unconscious. In the meantime Nexx made his escape, and following the advice of his friend in Lonestar, has made himself incredibly scarce. Carlos managed to resuscitate Yuri after the fight, who then Heal spelled himself, and the two returned to the safe house.

Upon their return they were informed by Erinyes as to the information she had found before being booted. The two seemed unimpressed by the new information, and decided that everyone should get some much needed rest, when suddenly the doorbell rang.

The entire party panicked until they remembered that the commlink that the Johnson was providing was to be delivered to them at the house, and decided to answer the door. A young pizza-delivery boy gave them their delivery set in foam in a typical pizza box, in exchange for a payment and a tip, and was on his way. The party then rested until the next day.

In the morning, Carlos awoke Kokori with a glass of cold water on the face, and the group ate day old cheeseburgers that Yuri had bought. Carlos then offered to let Kokori take a shower and change clothes as long as he could stay in the room, and agreed not to watch, though he basically spent the entire time ogling at the shower curtain as the girl dropped clothes over it, bathed, and changed into new flats.

They then rejoined the group to discuss contact with Mr. Sakura, and decided to let Kokori have a deck of cards and to only tie her feet if she was good. They even let her join the discussion of hostage negotiation to a limited degree.

Erinyes took charge of the negotiations, and after only a second of using the provided commlink, decided she would be better served using her Technomancer skills to communicate with Mr. Sakura and let the others eavesdrop on the conversation. A Mitsuhama hostage-negotiator answered the call, much to the chagrin of the group, and Erinyes proceeded to inform them that they would provide an extra 100,000 nuyen in cash upon delivery of Kokori. Th negotiator grudgingly agreed to the sum, and informed them that it would be delivered at the exchange. They then provided proof of life, and let Mr. Sakura speak to his daughter. The party did not, however, provide any sense of when or where the dropoff would accure.

Though distressed by the loss of yet another player and the turn over of a character so soon, the game seemed to be gettin back on track. The characters seem to be realizing that their hostage can actually be approached without having a Ork-shaped cattle prod on standby. Tim in particular seems to be making an honest effort to develop a rapport between Carlos and Kokori, even if it's driven by the Ork's young male "mind". Dangerous to be sure.

The engagement with the Ancients, the poor hacking job of Mitsuhama mega-corp, and the decission to do without the commlink will more than likely come back to haunt the characters in the future, and allows for many other chances at some fun encounters.

I am, however, a bit bothered by Mark attempting to heavy-hand his way into a mega-corps mainframe, and by the time taken focusing on only one character while the other players sit by idly. A touch more subtlety in the future would be encouraged, as well as work on behalf to get the other characters involved in a parallel situations. Perhaps overlaying The Ancients and IC combat in order to keep everyone in the action, though seperate. I know running two seperate combats can be difficult, but it would help kill the doldrums of the Hacker doing his own thing while everyone else waits around. It would also get me used to the Magic/Hacking/Meat combat that can and does accure occasionally.

This was otherwise as an eventful, if mildly dull, session of tying up loose ends and getting back on track.

As a mental note from now on, I think I will not be letting the ork drive my bike from now on.  He seems to like parking my bike where people will be shooting at.

What did you expect? I was put into a hostile situation after very nearly seeing a hot naked girl! Someone needed hurtin'! All that wavin' about and throwin bolts o' pain probably didn't help your whole "don't shoot me" case. You really shouldn't be yellin at me anyway homes, I ain't the guy who decided to steal the gang-mobile from ganger-central! Even that wasn't the painful part! Who's bright idea was it to let the point-ear do the talking? Every time she opens her mouth my 'ead hurts.
