Vek peeks in, "They've gone. Nur is setting up out by the Army. Vance and Random and Xozla went to Vulsar. I have to make some rounds with my people. Its been a terrible day for most of them. Stay here if you like. Tomorrow is a new day."

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah staring at her clothing she had taken off and laid on the bed she suddenly turns around. "Oh alright thank goodness, yes was a very... very tiresome day." She smiles and starts to put on her fresh clothing. "I'll just wander for a bit if you don't mind. See if Cicero came back by now. So i'll see you in a bit?"

Michael James Watson

"More then a bit. This is a huge adjustment for people who came this far up to get aways from crowds. Come to the communal area if you like and meet the natives. They are no where near as scary as the other crowd today."

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah nods then pulls her top over her head "Well alright. You said it earlier i would be seen with you." She winks "I'll go with you then. Especially if it takes longer it has been a grueling day for you as well... least i can do is support you." When she is ready she walks over to his side with a soft smile on her facr

Michael James Watson

As Vek goes throughout the village Vek is very clear that the events will not change their lives unless they wish it to. He knows everyone by name, tells the same thing over and over. That if they have issues to bring them to him or to the Amber commander Lt Spatchi. He trys to bring each conversation back to their home, their corner, their farm, their livestock, etc, leaving them with a sense of their importance to him.

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah walks along with him, she stays silent mostly. She feels a bit guilty to have dropped something so intense on their lives. Since they are just unwilling victims of the events. She looks with even more respect to Vek his ways. How he handles the conversations reassures people. Cares for them. So she just sticks with him trying to look as non threatening as she can. Which wouldn't be hard. She does try on learning their names and what they do and such as fast as possible.

Amber Bronkhorst

Also she will try and look what people do for entertainment. What the children play as games though since it is late they might be sleeping. To those that don't seem to shy she introduces herself. To those that look shy or uncomfortable she will keep a distance till Vek says it is okey or till Vek is dome with his talk.

Michael James Watson

It seems axe and knife throwing are a main hobby, especially for kids.

Amber Bronkhorst

Alva will try to talk to the kids that are still up and about. Since she does seem to connect easier with children. Unless the parents are protective or the kids shy. When Vek and Alvah walk towards another place she looks up at him. "I've noticed some people are quite shy. Which according what you told me i can fully understand. They went up here to avoid crowds and such... Now how can i win their trust? Or at least is there something i can do to make my presence less troublesome for the inhabitants here?"

Michael James Watson

walking among the woods from tiny hamlet to tiny hamlet Alvah feels the trees around her as living things, a familiar feeling but now she senses it as if through the eyes of the earth elemental. Rock, soil, land, trees.. "For these people there is a difference between people and a person. For many of these folks the whole point of going up was to live a solitary life. The mountain ranges are craggy and uneven and little dells will hold a couple families with water and enough land to grow what they need. But when we see them, and I introduce you, you are a person, not people. You know, I don't mind the pattern being here. In many ways, once a wall around it keeps kids of human and goat variety from wandering onto it, the pattern will be just something pretty. But 100 elites are PEOPLE. And 100 is just a start... Random will eventually want to do more then provide an honor guard. He will want to station troops. And i'll have to let them. "

Amber Bronkhorst

Sensing her surroundings now differently and more intensely she takes the time to appreciate it. To really feel it and see it all. She looks up at Vek and frowns. "Why would he want to post more here? If we can show that this is going to be enough. He can't be serious to take over your place like that. " Inhaling the night air for a deep long moment she then turns again to Vek. "Why do you have to let them? sure i understand a shadow of the pattern but there are more shadows of patterns around and i am certain not all have troops of Amber around it. "

Michael James Watson

"BUt Random wants them. Its part of hte game being played between the Logrus and the Pattern. This coming her was a big win for the pattern"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks in the distance for a moment and then up. "Okey, i heard something like that earlier that the Pattern and Logrus are in constant play of balance. Won't you get in trouble? with Chaos i mean? I know you told me that you are not really active there. But did i bring more trouble on you then you told me?" She looks slightly worried "Or is it enough that you are in featly with Random now that nothing from that side would hurt you?"

Michael James Watson

He shrugs. "Chaos has chaotic plans. Some people will hate me for this, others will not. some won't care. the Duke of Hendrake set me free but told me he wanted me to travel, have experiences, gather powers and allies. Then i will be a worthy great lord of Hendrake when i return. I'll take him at his word for now"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah turns and stops in front of Vek looking him straight in the eyes. She stares a moment intently and then nods . She speaks in a light tone "Okey, then that is fine. Right.. and well, that is really the only thing to do with certain people. Just take their word for it.... for now. " She walks on really enjoying the cold outside air. "So this might sound horribly stupid but noone ever told me the details on it. I know the pattern and logrus do not see eye to eye. " She chuckles "But how can some people still have both? Pattern and Logrus imprint or control? However you put it.. won't that be volatile for one person?" She looks up at Vek with a warm smile "If you don't want to answer don't of course.. i'm just curious."

Michael James Watson

He chuckles, as the walk into a long meadow with slightly glowing flowers, glowing bees swarm them. He says, "Lets sit and watch.." He waves off to one side of the meadow and a woman on horseback rides up, waves to Vek." You're out late." Vek says, "Trouble at camp. Hows down hill?" "Crowded." He laughs,"Alvah, this is Ciona Vena, on of my rangers. Vena, this is my traveling companion, Alvah. If I am not in camp report to her. Oh, Dowser is officially Mayor of Veksvale. You have a wine bag?" She tosses a bota bag to him, "Well met, Alvah. welcome to camp"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks at the flowers, the bees and just takes it in for a moment. She had decided she did that to little to just stop and appreciate beauty. Seeing the woman ride up and after introductions Alvab inclines her head politly "Well met Ciona Vena. Thank you."

Michael James Watson

Vek smiles, "Good hunting?" SH gives a half shoulder shrug, "Just eating. Nothing good. Bears are asleep, and the deer know better. Caught a snake but decided not to eat it." Reaching into a bag Cicero slips up around her arm, squeeze softly till she sees Alvah, then slithers quickly over to her

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah holds out her hand having Cicero back she holds his nose to hers and whispers soft in parsletongue. "Hope you had fun my friend, happy you are back. "(Or something to that meaning) After a short nuzzle she then lets him slither over her arm and shoulders until he finds a position he is comfortable with. She looks up to Ciona "Thank you for returning my friend."

Michael James Watson

"a pleasure. Vek, I'm going to East Falls. Anything for them?" Vek shakes his head, "No, but go by way of the camp. Take a look at the gift Alvah brought me. Hard to miss. Introduce yourself to Spatchi, the commander of the Amber Elites stationed there. Tell your rank and duties. " "There are soldiers in camp?!?" SHe says. Vek goes on, "Yes, 100, and you'll see why. Night." She waves and rides off. Vek leans back to watch the bees

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks at Vek and then Ciona. Clearly uncomfortable still having shaken up the lifes of everyone here. She just stands a bit back looking over the meadow. Wisely not saying a word. When she rides off and Vek sits Alvah sits next to him. Watching with him.

Michael James Watson

Vek says, "To answer your question about having Logrus and Pattern, its a matter of one's psychic will. Most Amberites can have multiple inscriptions. A fair number have pattern and Logrus. The conflict between Logrus and Pattern is a cosmological one not a personal one. Holding multiple inscriptions is a matter of discipline and psychic power. You bear a Pattern and a sigil. Realmer has a Pattern of Amber, the Spiral of Adagalasck and the Sign of Paragon. Arloxedra has the Pattern of Amber, the Sign of Paragon, the Sigil of Pocai, the Mark of Alamond, and the imprint to the Arden stone, as well as what i assume is a master's attunement to the Jewel of Judgment. He also has the Mal at Reiss. He is attuned to Eric's armor called Shatterbound and wields Eric's Sword called Gallis. Thats just the ones I know...So it takes practice, Patience, and brain wattage"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks at Vek and nods thoughtfully. "Right. Yeah i have seen the sigils Arlo can call up. But had not seen the logrus. With him that is. Have seen it by now of course. " She winks at Vek "So not for the weak of mind.. got it. And of course not dor the weak of body. So far what i understand is that every type of imprinting is physically staining and sometimes very dangerous and they all differ from eachother. You had told me of your logrus walk and how dangerous that was." Alvah now leans back on her elbows looking at the glowing bees moving about hopping from flower to flower.

Michael James Watson

"Yes." He raises the sign of the Logrus, making it large, filling the sky above them. Glowing moving, like a bowl of living spaghetti in many different colors. "You step among the lines and sense the right direction. Each line has different environments. You have to exist in the Logrus for a length of time, make a certain number of crossing which may not be the same every time. You have to shapechange fast. When switching lines you have a fraction of a second to see what the next environment is and to shapechange to survive it. " He idly tends his spell as he talks. "The Logrus is mercurial. Sorcerers train for years to survive it. Study it, meditate on it, commune with it. Some never gain the courage and wisely don't try it. It has a menacingly disruptive and distracting feel to it when you are in its presence. It kills 1 in 3 people who try it. Even those who have already assayed it. The Logrus in Suhay Way, the main one, is surrounded with the bones of failures. " "I was trained. I was a bonewarrior, a bard of Chaos, and something of a family embarrassment. Worse of all, I had proven my Amber blood by issuing an Amber Death Curse. They knew they could not kill me without risking the curse on themselves. So they rewarded me. Gave me position. Let me be a hunter, an assassin really, in a form of entertainment where chaosians bet what happens aling the way. They saw me trained for sorcery, conjuration trump artistry. I was trained to take the Logrus and join my house as a Lord. But when i went to walk, bold, certain, i knew immediately that I had been taught how to assay the Logrus badly. Wrongly. To die on the Logrus. One day I shall seek out my former instructor. He knows it too. Till then... i travel and take my pleasures where i find them"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah just lays back watching the Logrus and watching Vek tend to his spells. Her eyes following the different lines like a dance with numerous colourful ribbons. She listens to his words. "Hearing that i absolutly understand some, how well trained, still would not dare. Thinking how hard shapechanging is. Let alone doing it in fractions of seconds. " Turning her head she breaks her stare at the colourful spaghetti and looks at Vek smiling soft. "Even trained wrongly and basically prepared to die, you survived and succeeded. I do not know who your instructor is. But when you do seek him out will it be out of revenge. Or will it be to show you are in many ways better then he and your house thought?" She then adds softly. "If you don't want to talk about it. I will stop asking."

Michael James Watson

"Shapechange is hard for Amberites. Its like breathing in Chaos. Everyone does it to some degree. Form is very flexible at that end of things. I was trained to make mistakes but when the time came I made different choices and survived. When the time comes and I slay my teacher, it won't be vengeance. It will be a reckoning.

Amber Bronkhorst

"Yeah i can imagine if you grow up in a everchanging place like Chaos shapechange becomes a daily part of life." She smiles looking at Vek. "So instead lf sticking what they taught you, you thought for yourself. " She stares for a moment to the Vek and then looks up again. "Reckoning.... i admire your patience. "

Michael James Watson

He lets the logrus fall from the sky like sparks fading bring the world to darkness of night. Rolling to his side with a smile. "Chaosians don't view time as Amberites. We are more flexible. We can wait for ages. Though sometimes we take what we want, especially if its offered. Is it offered?"

Amber Bronkhorst

Staying still till all the sparks faded and her eyes had adjusted again to the darkness of night. "Could learn alot the Chaosian view." Alvah smiles turning towards Vek. She then softly states "If it was not. I would not be here."

Michael James Watson

"Good. Chaos calls me" He rolls in. AND SCENE!!!!
