Vek pulls a trump with a Chaos back, meaning a Trump from his chaos deck. Stepping through the trump enters a marble hall looking vey much like a gold and platinum engraved church. On the ground is an ornately engraved mosaic that is clearly a symbol of chaotic origin. Winged Chaosians come alert and to attention, weapons ready. A white skinned cadaverous man in elegant silver and black cavalier clothes comes forward. He bows, “Lord Vek. It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Hendrake in these halls of Ang Ri. I am the Attendant. May we provide service?” Vek nods, seeming somehow taller and slightly more chaotic. “A suite, attire. Mid Realm foods. This is Avaxala of Zictla. She has permission to come and go from my suite. Is there anyone else in residence?” The Attendant says, “Lord, the Lady Gilva is in realm but not currently in the hall. Lord Quislnialan is here with a group of Pit Divers. A contingent of the Witnesses of the Abyss are in residence. Lord Have you come for the Auction?” Vek asks, “What auction?” “Lord, the Council of the Wing is holding an auction for treasure from the Arrival of Agrom.” Vek says, “Can you arrange seats and a bidding number for me? Do you have information on other bidders? When is this occurring?” The Attendant says, “I will have your certification as a bidder processed immediately. The Hall of the Wing is open for examination of treasures. The auction is to be done in sections with the first section occurring in two turns. The other sections have not been scheduled.” Vek frowns, “Tight... Recognize Princess Avaxala of Zictla, with my vouch. Can you arrange to have her certified as a bidder?” The Attendant nods, “I see no reason why she would be denied if you vouch for her. The servant will take you to quarters. ” He hands two black mithril tokens on mithril chains. Vek puts his around his neck, encouraging Alvah to do the same. A servant in white skin and Hendrake livery takes the two to a suite. Vek motioned to Alvah for silence. The suite has several bed chambers around a central room. A fire pit cut the cold coming in and open balcony. Vek walks out on the balcony. He flips the attendant a coin, catching it he looks delighted. Vek says, “Tell the staff I will be generous if details of the Witnesses and the Pit Divers is brought to me. I will pay in coin for especially juicy local gossip. I will pay in rank if I am amused by the gossip. I will pay in powers if the gossip proves vital. Tell your cadre I am interested in a chamber for my service. I want no one over your own rank. If you can arrange a chamber without the Attendant killing you, then you will lead it. Am I understood? ” The servant is wide eyed, nods in shock. The servant bows and exits. Vek, “Excellent timing, dear. Lets freshen up and we will go take a look at the Great Stadium of the Lords. We will see about getting you a Warrior's harness. Then we will go to the Hall of the Wing to see whats for auction. We need to decide some things. By the time we get there we will be able to pick up our Auction Numbers. We will be able to see who else is bidding. I am of a mind to cause some trouble because if this was known in Amber I know for certain I would have been told. Random must be told.”

Amber Bronkhorst

While following Vek through the trump she looks around curiously but tries to remain neutral in facial expressions. She knows better then to blatantly start asking questions especially as the white cadaverous man walks up . When she hears about the auction and the subject she raises her eybrow in curiosity but just barely. Letting Vek do the talking still. When she is handed the black mithril token she copies Vek and puts it around her neck as well. Alvah silently walks along just watching people and looking at her surroundings and very much focusing to not accidentally grab things with her sticky fingers. When they are alone on the balcony Alvah looks at Vek with wide eyes. “Wouldn’t the ambassador between Chaos and Amber would have told Random? And what would they have of Agrom?” Alvah starts to pace a bit uneasy. “So… great stadium, see what is for auction.. and what do we need to decide? How you are going to cause trouble? Won’t it be trouble for you, that I am here? I do not know how politics here work, or if people would recognize me.“ She thinks for a moment. “Nah I won’t be recognized probably, who would around here right? So what do we need to decide dear?”

Michael James Watson

He goes and pours a dark red liquid fro ma fine decanter and hands a glass over. "Clothes and food will be here in a moment. If the servant is smart he will bring them himself, acting as a Chamber Lord even without the rank. If the Attendant shows up I may kill the servant if I see him again. To answer your question, the Ambassador to Amber is Maylon Hendrake. The last thing she would want is representatives of Amber at an auction for treasures like these. Hendrake Pit Divers are here and we are hosting Witnesses of the Abyss. That big time Chaos politics. My being here is going to cause a lot of trouble in itself. It will be seen as me having sources in Ang Ri that you and I know I do not. Hell, inviting Agrom might be worth the trouble. Gets me in good with Vance. He is probably not wild about me boning his sister no matter what he says publicly. We will decide who to call after i see who the bidders are., For all I know Random already has bidders here. Information flows uphill... " The drink is a heavy prune like tasting drink with a heavy alcohol content, but its smooth and rich tasting. "As for Agrom, I don't know how much you know about what happened to him. He and Vance entered the abyss and spent time there. They went deep. Somewhere Vance had found out about the existance of a shadow of the pattern being tormented deep in the abyss. Along the way they fought something bad in a place of great variance. Agrom was spit out or escaped the abyss moments from death and landed here on Ang Ri. Think of it as a blast of a 20 meter wide cannon filled with shrapnel packed tightly around a Klingon. Word is he was fighting diamond abyssal forces. Not sentient exactly, more like purposefully driven sheets of diamond edged blades. Well he landed like a meteor in a field of Unsat trees. The details are complicated but the farm wizrd on the unsat plantation managed to get word up the chain to one of the Council of the Wing. Thats a governing group of Dragons here. Probably the most important ruling group but as you will see there are thousands of rulling groups, overlapping." "They got word to Despil, then Ambassador from Chaos to Amber. Despil got Agrom to Vulsar into a kolto tank. He survived, but just barely. What happened to Agrom was overshadowed by the return of Vance, dragging a delighted pattern, making Vulsar a kingdom." Sitting in the balcony, looking out over the wildly diverse city of buildings, arenas, fields, and constructs that dazzle Alvah's mind, Vek continues. "The thing is, once Agrom was gone, that was all well and good. But a 20 meter cannon had dumped one Klingon and a huge amount of abyssal material onto a field in the rural areas of Ang Ri. " He conjures a bead a centimeter across, tossing it to Alvah. "A chunk of solid Abyssal material that big would be a treasure a Pit Diver might risk his life to acquire. A wizard of shadow might consider it the cornerstone of his magical power building on its powers. A High Order sorcerer could create a strong magical focus out of that. And Agrom arrived in the middle of a thousand cubic meters of abyssal material and all of it is insanely valuable. My guess is the first bidding block is a multitude of items the size of that bead. I have no idea how big the things might be. I hear that sheets of diamond 30 centimeters across were pulled out of his body and are right now in the magical sections of Star Fleet." He sighs, "And everything up for auction is something the Council of the Wing didn't want for itself. What might they be hiding..."

Amber Bronkhorst

Taking a glass she sips slowly first trying it out before daring to take a bigger sip. She nods slowly hearing what Vek says. “Very true he might already know, and it is of little importance really if Vance agrees with you boning me as you so poetically name it. Hey dad doesn’t agree either. And yet here we are. But that not a matter of concern. Agrom and or Vance are easily enough called over. But yeah is that the type of trouble you want. I doubt people will know I am Agrom his… aunt… very much younger aunt.” She laughs then takes another drink. “About what happened with Agrom and Vance yeah I have heard fragments and parts and things. He told me most about it after he showed some sort of red stone stuck in his head. But you know about that right?” Staring out over the sights she just let it amaze her and confuse her mind for a moment. Then as Vek continues she looks at him and catches the bead. Rolling it between her fingers she stares at it. “So where did you get this bead if it is of such high value…. And if it would be these things on auction… and this already has such high value. Then yes indeed, what would the ones higher up have kept.” She looks at Vek very seriously “are there things I should know now as in things I should absolutely not do or say. Better tell me now before I do something stupid again. Or… you know impulsive.. or wild… or.. well you know. “

Michael James Watson

"I know about Agrom's carbunkle. Pit divers consider them marks of honor. It would take a wiser herald then I to be sure but if a grand March of chaos was held, with no Chaos title at all his carbonless would put him far ahead of a minor chaos Lord like me. Carbunkles like that are won, earned, they can not be bought or installed. Sorcerers have died trying to create a carbunkle smaller the Agrom won." "Things you should know. Things not to say. Don't mention Veksdale at all. Not even to people we know are familiar with it. The walls have ears. This place is as protected as possible. But everywhere else, assume you are being eavesdropped on. " The Servant comes in with 5 others. They are carrying food that is taken to the suite's kitchen. Bottles for the bar. Water bottles. The Servant comes over with two suits of clothes. Both are similar, only size making a difference. Vek nods "These will do for now. We'll go to the Areana first for certification. Then go shopping for the harness you like. We'll start you off applying for Front Warrior. Get a few public bouts in. You rise to Rank Warrior easily. I am a Bond Gladiator. I have not fought here since i was first let loose a bit from Chaos. I will sign up for a few fights too just to see how things go. No way am I ready for Rank or Lord Gladiator. Red is Warrior, Green is gladiator""

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah just simply nods to Vek as she explains what to say and what not, seeing the servant come in. Looking at the clothing and then at Vek she nods "sounds good, and yeah i am sure you have to shake off a bit of the dust to get into it again. Or so i can imagine. So can anyone just apply for getting into this? Like the Front Warrior you want me to apply for? i know the rest is working your way up of course. Anything i should know about that part? the applying and trying out?"

Michael James Watson

"You be weighed, measured, and give s short bio. That information will be available to the fans. Programs, trading cards, the works. Anyone can apply. The worst you can do is Warrior. Few people wear Warrior harnesses socially though. Not much status. However, many people, not just in Ang Ri, but in the many shadows that use the WC&LG, apply for Warrior, just to wear the lapel pin or some of the associated gear. Some wear the harness blank, socially. Most people who wear them publicly wear some version of the rank they gain. Its a fashion thing for militant worlds. " He looks over the Servant. "Do you have a name?" The servant shakes his head. Vek walks up, raises the logrus sign and examines him. "Do these want to take service?" They all nod. "You can take Rylee or remain unnamed." He kneels, putting his forehead to Vek's feet. Standing he says, "Rylee, your servant. These 4 are your chamber. How may we serve?" "Tell the Atendnat I gave you a name. Afterwards you will maintain this suite. Take the smallest of room, have bunks put in. One bed each. I was once unnamed. I will not treat your unnamed as food. Know that if i deem good service in this realm i will name the entire chamber before i leave. Then you will maintain whatever dwellings i acquire here. I am to be addressed as Sir, or Lord Vek. She is to be addressed as m'Lady or Lady Avaxal. Understand?" He nods. "Good. Inform the Attendnat and get this suite ready for us. I will acquire an estate withing the week. Too many ears here." The chamber leaves and Vek takes his drink and looks out over the balcony. He speaks casually, almost wistfully. "I've seen that done. Know the priorities. I've always been legally able to establish a dwelling but i never did. Never acquired Chaosian servants. Chasa I bought but he was never an unnamed. It feels strange. I am a minor lord of a major house. Yet before the turn passes the Duke of Hendrake will know i have taken Whitehand servants from the great pool of unnamed..Wonder how he will respond.. Looking back, sitting on the rail he says, "To business. I think fighting wise you could have screened for Gladiator. But that gives you rank, but no recognition. As a Front Warrior you will fight in large clubs or fight theaters. Since i will be seen with you, and because it will be common knowledge that you are an Amberite, as am I, you will be a good draw for a venue. You'll make a name for yourself., Gain some recognition. Some fans even. Then after your first season, say 20 fights, either the guild will promote you or you'll screen for Rank Warrior. Time here is funny. Because the world is 4 shadows passing through each other time varies. You will get far more time here in relation to Velsdale and Amber. Don't worry about that."

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah can’t help but laugh at the weighed and measured part. She mutters “small and throwable.” She then remains silent as Vek addresses the servant and she watches the whole thing with the name happen. She might look a bit uncomfortable with it, it is not something she is used to. Even if she heard the stories of Vek how he was treated in his youth. When he looks out over the balcony after the chamber leaves she tilts her head listening to him. A soft smile on her lips. “If it is within your right does it really matter? Do you expect a bad reaction? As Vek sits on the rail Alvah stands before him looking up with a smile her hands resting on his legs. “I’m fine with starting as a warrior, gives me room to learn and to grow, like you said in reputation. It will be common knowledge that I’m an Amberite and yet you introduce me as Avaxala of Zictla.” She almost spits out those words they have a bad taste still to her after all that had happened back in Azcala. “Although for now I do understand, I suppose. “ She then laughs “oh dear, time confuses me, so I figured if I am not being called upon I miss nothing of importance.” She then looks in the distance for a moment and chuckles. “Honestly even if something important happened no one would really call upon me.. But to go b ack to the subject, I do think its going to be fun. At least a healthy outlet for my…. Impulses of the more aggressive nature. But what do we do with the auction thing? Have to keep an eye on that as well right?” Alvah looks up locking her eyes to his. “Are you sure us being seen together is not going to be trouble? I am never much for planning but I find reacting easier when I know there will be things to react to. Just like a dance, sometimes you lead the steps and sometimes you react to the steps. But you just said that your actions might have reactions from people higher up and important. Last I want is to add to the trouble. Unless its fun trouble. “ She adds the last with a big grin.

Michael James Watson

"I used your Azcala title for a number of reasons. First is that Azcala has a certain standing in Chaos and this is a BZPI world. Azcala is something of a Client State of Chaos. ITs war with Amber almost a proxy war. Secondly there are a great number of Azcalans in Ang Ri and many in the Warrior Core. Amber however is not represented here. You find yourself again with a multitude of titles. There are many Azcalans in the WC& LGA, of them yours is the highes rank as a dughter of Cihalas. To the best of my knowledge no others of the line of Tonacat participate currently. As for Amberites, I am the only one as far as I know. There are not any Amber nationals or those in allegiance. This is too far for most of them. Too Close to chaos. I may be wrong on that too. I don't think Shaz Far participates. I am unaware if Lady Gilva participates. But Shaz, Gilva and I, regardless of our Amber blood, are denzeins of Chaos. You are the daughter of a prince" "Amber has no embassy here. If you get in trouble when i am gone show the Hendrake Token. Call on Azcala if you dare. Better yet, don't get in trouble. Now.. Lets dress and go"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah laughs "Well, now you jinxed it. Not getting into trouble. But no in all seriousness i'll do my best not to get on trouble. Last thing i want is having to call upon Azcala. Thinl after the whole thing with Zunala i might not stand in good graces.... Although what i heard so far, mom wants me back in any case.... " Alvah stops talking and waves her hand as if to swat.the thoughts away. "Who cares and don't want yo talk about that. But yeah lets get dressed and go. You have me all curious now about it all. " She takes a step back to give Vek the space to stand from the rails. "Hmm when i am here alone i could also ask Cazo to come, though my amberite status would be very clear then. "

Michael James Watson

Walking through the streets of the city of An g Ri, the capital city with no other name. The stadium is massive but the Warrior offices look a bit seedy. They extend to buildings beyond the stadium itself. There are many both around and many clerks. Vek walks to one and explains the situation, One applicant for Front Warrior, one applicant for warrior. Vek looks to Cazo-”Welcome to Team Vek. It just got created but has a brilliant future.” Alvah is taken aside. A clerk asks what name she will be registered on and what company will she fight under, if any. She realizes what Vek meant. Its a team sport. After her response they wigh her, gauge height. Ask racial origin...

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah happily walks beside Vek just looking her eyes out on a new place. Watching the people, interactions between them. As Vek arranges the start of the applications she grins "Well team Vek there we go. And i'm sure it will do great! " When she is taken aside measured with her 5"5 and 120. She has answered "Name i'll use be Xala, fighting under Team Vek. And i'm Azcalan. " Vek had started introducing her like that so she figures just to keep it up. To not stand out right away. And like Vek had said more Azcalan warriors around.

Michael James Watson

"Xala of Azcala. Go to Ring 6" Arriving at the ring a fighter is waiting. He wears the Front warrior harness. She steps in. He salutes and says, "No need to kill me.. just attack me. He takes his guard stance

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah replies with a same form of salute, she figures it would be only respectful. Hearing his instructions she smiles and nods in a short gesture. Walking to the weaponsrack she decides on a shorter blade. Two if allowed. Seeing his guard stance, Alvah tries to measure him a bit. What style he might fight in. Although so many styles of shadow and Chaos she would not know. She decides on a basic stance. The shorter blades close to her body, she figures with her speed small frame and nimbleness she could get closeby easier so the man his sword would be less effective. After a moments thought figuring that out, Alvah suddenly starts a short dash towards the man. She goes in a slight arc going a bit to the man his right then seemingly aiming for his center. When she is nearly in strike distance Alvah plants one foot steady on the ground allowing her to turn around her own axis and lowering herself. Going for the back of the mans legs, planting a quick strike and then tumble through to try and get out of the mans reach again.

Michael James Watson

He remains motionless, sword ready at middle guard. Upon your attack he takes a step and blocks it. She realizes he used the least motion to best block her attack. The bout continues. He is fully defensive for most of it and easily defends. As she moves, gauging his motion, he raises his hand. "Xala...Pause. I see you being cagey, gauging my responses, let me be clear. I will not strike you for points, only for effect. I am gauging your fitness for ranking. I already know you are a fine warrior. Azcala sends nothing less. Though Azcala didn't send you, did it?” He walks to the edge and takes a clip board from an attendant. He reads it and hands it back. “Your paper says you are a Tyro in the Ludus Hendrake, under the tutelage of Vek Hendrake. I have fought him in the Arena, many years ago, when he was ranked as a mere Gladiator, so I assume you are here to screen as a Blade or Front Warrior. I was not aware he was a an instructor. A Bone Warrior, yes, I knew that. That he has a stable is news the Arena will want to know. It will especially interest Scale Gilva, Rank Ikala, Lord Gantin, and of course, Game Lord Taosil. They all run Hendrake Ludus. Bond Vek running a stable is going to be exceptional news. I'll warn you, Game Lord Truxka will be very eager to pair his ponies against you whatever rank you gain. He hates Hendrake. He has several Lord Ranked that are abling for Game seats I know the Hendrakes are aiming for too. Hendrake is a warrior house and it has been many years since they had more then one Lord here. “ He walks out to the guard position. “I do you no favor ranking you highly, though I would guess already that had he chosen to he could have screened you for Gladiator. So.. You are seeking Front or Rank. What say you? I'll sign you off at Blade now. That will give you a chance to work your harness in smaller venues till you make a name for yourself. Or you can engage me again, attacking fully, and I can give you Front or Rank. The choice is yours. Starting at Blade helps you build a fanbase, learn the culture, how it differs from the Schools in Azcala or Chaos. Any venue will recognize you are better then Grade fairly quickly. Take the bouts, do not insult your opponents or the Venue Masters, and you'll be acclaimed quickly to Front. Or you can have Front and start off competing against known combatants. The call is yours.” He raises his hand quickly, pointing at her. “And if you look over at your instructor now, I'll give you Rank, consider you a fool, and laugh when Rank Warriors beat the hell out of you for a few seasons. This is not the warfield and you will have no magic and no master to protect you.”

Amber Bronkhorst

As the man talks Alvah remains still and looks at him purely following him with her eyes. Facial expression neutral but showing she does listen. When he is done she answers his questions. "No Azcala did not send me. They asked my racial origin. So i gave it. " A short nod "Yes Vek Hendrake wanted me to reach for front warrior. He said any higher would not be wise. And i agree i like to work my way up and not be handed it. About people who might or might not be happy or interested in Vek having a stable i'll learn that as we go. I do thank you for the warning though. I understand politics is a part of it all as well. To be honest i'll see what matches i can have and fight from there." Alvah tilts her head still looking at the man. "I would still like to try and go for front warrior. It is what Vek Handrake had planned. So if i can try again. Then this time i'll just fullout attack. "

Michael James Watson

He nods, "I am a Bond Gladiator. Tell Bond Vek that I lay my gage at his feet. I have an opening in the main arena here tomorrow mid day. 10 Called Rule. You are correct that there is much politics in the games, but it is merchandising as well. Though Hendrake has little need for merchandising. Bear in mind that your oppenents may literayy live and die for merchandising and fanfare. Lay on" He takes a position of guard

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah listens to thean and inclines her head in understanding and agreement. She then moves her stance. Knowing he will only defend with minimal movement Alvah readies herself for a different dance. Her plan is to show her strength, style and endurance. She is and always be a dancer so her nimbleness and grace will be visible in her attacks. When he defends or strikes to see her response she will react to his movement. Switching between leading the dance steps and following. Alvah will rely on her speed in attacks. Using her two blades in defense but mostly in attack. She does still do some feints but mostly to test herself of she can. Afterall for Alvah this is a different way of fighting. She will continue till the man calls to stop.

Michael James Watson

As she dances through her attacks he easily defends against them as he said he would. She notices his defenses come to echo her dance moves well. She thinks the dance style of movement must be one he is familiar with. After a few passes she feels him making his defenses move flowingly with hers. Not anticipating attacks but responding to them. He appraisal of his dance fighting is that its not just something he is familar with but something he has trained for. Several times he taps her thigh with a blade, a couple to the shoulder, she barely stops. He moves around an attack, using the offhand to sweep blade down, letting it score his right arm as he flips the blade to the left, enters range and pops Alvah on the forehead with the pommel. and delivers a strong pommel strike to her. Stepping away he raises his hand for a halt.

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah really enjoying the fact the fighting is becomming so flowing. She does not expect to best a bond gladiator but she doesn't have to. When he taps her on her thigh and shoulder she notes the hits but continues. After the pommel strike on her forehead and him halting the fight Alvah stands still where she was. Rubbing her forehead where she was hit. She remains silent and looks at the man wondering if what she did was good enough. Her arms resting along her side she focuses on getting her breathing at a calm pace again.

Michael James Watson

He says, "Front. The top of Front. If you want Rank I would grant it but you would be at the bottom of it. The Games are not deathly battle usually. In the Warrior ranks the venues will use everything from Honor Rule to 10 Blood. Few battles will want to risk life and limb with more. Some....less reputable ones do. They take warriors of your skill, have them sign on as Warrior, then set them for Blood Fights or even Death Fights. The Lizardmen venues do such, assuring that one of theirs that makes Gladiator is familiar with death. I doubt Bond Vek will schedule you thus but beware of Lizardmen opponents. As an Azcalan you know the Cipactlix-Lizard born of Azcala. They practice for war in death sports here. Now...Front or Rank?"

Amber Bronkhorst

Listening she nods slowly in understanding. "I understand, thank you, and yes i know of the Cipactlix. " After a moment she nods and speaks again. "I'm happy with Front, this gives me room to grow, learn and get familiar enough with ways. " She smiles "And i will beware of lizardman opponents. Thank you again for the warning." Moving her blades in her hands using her fingers to twirl them. "So you said tomorrow there would be an opening for me? "

Michael James Watson

He smiles, No. Tomarrow there will be an opening for Bond Vek in the central arena" He points to an attendant for motions her to follow

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah nods "I"m sure he'll be happy to hear that. Or not. Though i would love to see him fight in the arena." She then looks to the attendant he points to and inclines her head "Thank you for your time, advice and warnings." She then goes to the attendant he pointed to.

Michael James Watson

The Warrior turns to the next person waiting and starts giving them a familiar speech. The attendant takes her over the the window where her paper is looked over. Stamped, copied, and folded. Slipped into a plain leather pouch. it is passed over. The clerk gives a often repeated good luck and turns to other business. Looking around she see Vek on an upper balcony speaking to a a couple officials. Seeing you finished he points to the exit and heads indoors down to meet you. At the exit he meets you. "What did you take?"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah just follows, and follows instructions of what is needed of her. She nods to the good luck from the clerk. "Thank you." Seeing to where Vek points she waits there for him and smiles "Front warrior, I could choose, between Front or Rank but decided to stick with your advice and give myself room to get familiar and learn. " She grins slightly "YOu don't become one of the lead in a dancecompany either in one try." She jerks her head in a gesture back to where she came from. "The one that did the testing said that he has an opening for you tomorrow. Well his exact words were, he lays his gage at your feet, he has an opening tomorrow midday, main arena, 10 called rule." Alvah smiles up. "He also gave me advice and warnings about the internal politics of the fights. That multiple people would be interested for different reasons that you now have a stable. "

Michael James Watson

"In the land of the one legged the two legged dancer leads"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah frowns looking up shaking her head slightly. She hten laughs. "Well I did feel like a beginner fighter... veyr much so against that guy. Doesn't matter where you come from without the skills to back things up... " She then nods up to the general direction fo the balcony he was talking to people. "important business? And didn't we have an auction to go to? Or do we still have time?"

Michael James Watson

"We will go to the Auction now to view the items. But we need the proper attire. Now... You've your wallet. I've registered the Ludus Vek with the association and established a line of credit. Purchased a box in the arena. I may buy a townhouse with a training ground. I may take students. I have a slot at a nearby Venue for a Front Warrior fight. 3 am tonight. Right now i want food and to buy a new harness for both of us. The Games area huge fashion and merchandise industry and i intend to dump some gold into it. When we attend the Auction i want to be in a new harness to show i intend to stay awhile. Take advantage of the Time freak we arrived under." "So the Guager challanged me? Well, I'll have a message sent that i accept. Walking down the street, it is busy with people of all shapes and sizes. Animagus, weres, dragonkin, nearly all the races of large swaths of shadow are here and all seeminigly in a hurry. "I trumped Dowser. I've established that we came in right where i hoped. As long as we return to Veksdakle we will lose no time here. If we go somewhere else, were are at about 15 to 1 and we'll lose several weeks in Amber and a lot more in Veksdale. Welcome to Chaos Time." Coming to a small collection of buildings, one a columned building painted black, Vek enters. Its filled with Harnesses and armor, and a variety of attires for combat wear and for social wear. A clerk comes to Vek immediatly. Vek gives the name of Ludus Vek and a fter a few moments the clerk comes back eager to help with our purchases'

Amber Bronkhorst

With a wide grin she says "ooooh going shopping.. always fun. " She finishes her sentence with a wink. "Alright so i will probably never really understand Chaos time. Finally had wrapped my head around the standard time flows. But good to know that we arrived at a good point. and like you said earlier. an interesting point with the auction and all that. So should Cazo join us with the auction or is he best to stay away from that? If he joins me as my elite wouldn't that raise eyebrows. More then you being there?" Looking up at Vek she then asks "So tonight a fight. against who do you know? or is it decided on the venue out of a pool of front warriors?" Then at the shop Alvah looks around to the harnesses admiring them but not touching till someone probably Vek tells her what to look for.

Michael James Watson

"I had Cazo brought through. He has getting tested now. He'll test out as Grade. Low Grade. If he understands the explanation he may take Warrior instead. Well take him to a fight before yours. Warrior, Grade, and Blade have a lot of walk-in venues. In the shop she sees the fighting harnesses and clothes incorperating the harness look. Imagine coat jackets with one arm dyed to replicate the look. T-Shirts with it too.

Amber Bronkhorst

Alva looks up "Shouldn't we wait for him to be finished or does he know his way around?" Alvah looks at the apparel and smiles. "It is absolutely a big thing i see. The whole style. So you want to do merchandise as well? How does that work? T'shirts with your face on it?" After a moment thought she turns fully to Vek. "Does a ludus like you have now a certain recognizable clothing style? or is it purely definable by the harness and the signs on there?"

Michael James Watson

"I have someone showing him around. I want this time with you to myself! " HE runs a hand in her hair. "Ludus means School. I opened Ludus Vek. I will take a few students on, train them, see them into the ranks. I called a friend, a Avasa of Conflict, who specializes in the Games. He will show Cazo around. He is also looking for suitable grounds in the city. He brought a few Combat Spirits too. We will have a nice small training facility. " "As for merchandising, it varies. I'll stick to standard stuff. Red, Green, purple, and white are restricted but it is mostly specific hues. So if you see bright red, light green, light purple, gray, its a fan. Even if its armor . Any color can be trained in but tan, black, white and uncolored leather are the most common training attire. It gets complicated. Ang Ri treats Order like a fetish. There is a lot going on here. " A servent comes by with a tray of richly spicy smelling tacos for the two clearly rich customres. Vek taks one and eats while he talks.

Amber Bronkhorst

When Vek runs his hand through Alvah her hair she presses her head softly against his hand smiling up at him. "Well i don't mind some together time. " Listening to him she nods "School, for fighitng. wariors gladiators. hmm sounds fun. So will this help your status or harm it? Just to get things straight in my view of the politics here. NOt that i bother to much with politics anyway." SHe grins slightly. "I'll just nod and don't confirm or deny anything." Seeing th efood her eyes grow wide especialy as the spicy scent reaches her. "Taco's...... " Grabbing one she smells it again and seeing Vek eating she figures what the harm would be and eats as well. after te first bites. "So standard stuff for merchandise, sounds good. Order a fetish." Alvah laughs. "Well this promises to be a fun time. so uhm the fight you had in mind for me... against who is it?"

Michael James Watson

"A professional."

Amber Bronkhorst

Raising an sarcastic eyebrow she looks at Vek. "OH yeah that makes it clear. " A soft chuckle escapes her then. "Fine i'll notice who when the time is there i suppose. not that i would know the person probably. " Nodding to the harnesses "So what should we get? I'll leave the decision of the harness basically to you, you would know best right."

Michael James Watson

"I'll get you a basic rig, front and back, both sides. Its what I'll wear as well. . There are hundreds of these stores around the city and you'll find their likes almost everywhere on Ang Ri. Once you see how it works you fit your own. Most of the venues we will look into use Honor Rule or 10 Called. For these its contact made not wounds given. They aren't death matches. It will depend on the venues. In the venues there is a great deal of variety. " He looks over the Gear and selects two full body suits. Clerks gather pieces and have them assembled and fit. Once purchased a staff mage comes over and casts spells to color the leather. He requests the wallets. Vek pulls out one and withdraws the paper. The clerk Looks it over and casts spells on a small leather shield and allows Vek to clarify his personal device. He pulls out another one and lets Vek clarify the School badge. He orders two. He picks up a snake design badge for the Church of the Serpent of Chaos. The clerk affixes the 4 Front Warrior and 4 Bond Gladiator circlets. Then adds Vek's personal device, school device, and church badge. He picks a gambison that fits him tightly and draws the rig over it. Much of the rig is modular. Alvah sees that is clearly sports attire, like football gear rather then the kit the marines used.

Amber Bronkhorst

"Sounds absolutely fine by me. Like i said you know best." She smiles at Vek amd then watches how the suits are assembled the colors are changed and all. When Vek dresses himself she is then just enjoying the sight in front of her with a big smile. "So it is actually something people wear also outside of the arena. Hmmm. Looks good on you." The last she adds with a wink. "Oh is it free to watch the fights in the arena or do i have to arrange something to watch you fight tomorrow? I really do want to see you. If you don't mind."

Michael James Watson

Vek chuckles but watches. The clerk says, "Oh yes. They are worn outside the arena. Most wear only the right arm harness over other clothes. Coming from beyond you might not know ours is a violent world. A brigand or assailiant would know he was assulting a trained warrior. Also, the harness is rarely used criminally or fraudulently. The cult takes a dim view of such things. Many wear a cloth version socially. Of course many lapel pins show past participation.

Amber Bronkhorst

"Well getting a notion of how this world is. But it is a good thing the harness and what it symbolises is respected if not seen as caution for not being an easy target." Alvah laughs soft. Then looks at Vek. "I know you are wearing it today... Should i? Haven't even had my first fight yet."

Michael James Watson

The Clerk looks at Vek, "Ah..." Vek says, "Of course you can watch. I bought a box in the main arena today. As for other fights, of course they are spectator events from Warrior to the Lords of the Game. Its a major activity. Many venues are free, depending of beverage, food, and merchandise concessions. Some Venues sell tickets. The major arenas sell tickets for lower level seating and allow upper ring seating to be fairly cheep, if not free. In fact the arena has rings of boxes scattered about the sands at various levels. Magnification magic is common at the higher levels. Your bout tomorrow is in a medium club, The Battery." The clerk injects, "Oh the Battery is a fine place. Firmly in the Respectable range of clubs. Ive been there myself many times. Not in the inner ring, in third of 4th balconys. But we drink the same ale in 4th as they do on the floor level!" Stepping back, he admires his work

Amber Bronkhorst

"That they are spectator events i sort of assumed. But good to know that i can watch you tomorrow. " Hearing about the venue she nods "Right at 3 am right? So we have time." A slight nod to the clerk "Well good to hear i'll be fighting in a good place for my first fight. " She smiles actually feeling excited for her first official fight. Alvah does look at Vek then as the clerk steps back. "What do you think?"

Michael James Watson

"Yes you should wear yours....Hmmm..that is a good point...Without a first bout, i might be seen as a costume....There is a way to manage that though. We still need weapons. Sir, is there a weapon shope connected with your store?" He nods, "Not connected but we are friends..." He gives the address less then a block away. After collecting everything and paying the two walk to the Weapon Shop.

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah happily follows Vek after they get the address to the weapons shop she chuckles soft when they walk. "You know this is not the first time my boyfriend takes me shopping. but i must admit this is the first time it involves harness fitting and weapon shopping. " She bumps playfully against Vek as they walk. "so you think if i would carry weapons with the harness it would be seen less as a costume and more as that i am actually participating?"

Michael James Watson

"None of these are magical. Using magical weapons in the arena is a major violation. Weapon choices are personal of course." Vek looks over the shelves, with a nod to the owner. He takes a few swings with a long sword, taking it and matching it to a scabbard.. He picks up a couple daggers. He says, "Shields are used sometimes but are mostly for bloodier rule groups. Though..."He picks up a small buckler with an engraved snake. "And of course, no archery weapons though standard weapons can be thrown."

Amber Bronkhorst

"Right no magic not magical weapons. that sounds very logical. Wouldn't be a fair fight then anyway. To regulate that would be hell." She looks over the weapons but doesn't pick anything up yet. Seeing Vek swing with a long sword she smiles. "Problem is with throwing your standard weapon.. you do not have the standard weapon after that in your hand to attack of defend. But hey to each their own tactics. " Nodding at the buckler with the engraved snake. "Isn't it also a part on the way you look on the field?" Alvah just looks over the weapons considering her strengths in fighting and if she even should get a sword. She is visibly weighing her options. Till she realizes she must look like an idiot and with a chuckle looks at Vek. "So yeah. i don't always fight with weapons other then anything with a short blade that won't hamper my speed. So considering what is important and such. Or am i overthinking it again?"

Michael James Watson

"You are over thinking it for the first fight. After you get experience, you figure out what works for you. You can generally take in several weapons. Let me make a suggestion. You are used to short blade and knifes. But this isn't a blood battle. Take a short hafted mace and wear metal guantlets. Use the mace like a short blade, punch like knife hits. All you need is 10 hits that might have pierced chain mail over leather. Mass weapons, rather the edged wezons. At first"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks over the racks of weapons. She looks for a short shafted mace Vek described. Finding one she holds it first on different ways feeling how it lays in her hand. Finding gauntlets which would fit her she tries the combination out. After a few moves and hitting the air she nods. "Okey, yeah i can work with this i think. So the fight is 10 called rule? Are they usually?" She walks up to Vek wraps her arms as far as she can around his waist and she smiles up. "Thank you, for taking me along and sharing this with me.. i love it. And actually looking forward to my first fight. " She then grins "Although i also get you do this to redirect my fury you are worried about to a different target." She says half jokingly and with a wink. But you can hear on her voice a more serious undertone.

Michael James Watson

"You need a vent, this is one that worked for me. After I assayed the Logrus I was an embarrassment to Hendrake. I was a bonewarrior and fought at Patternfall. Against Amber. I was a part of Maylon's project to create Amberites, which was a huge embarrassment when it was discovered. I had given an Amber Death curse against the lords of the house even though I knew not who they were. The death curse did not need names to work. Some lords blamed part of loss to Amber on the three of us. " He picks up a knife, lays it on the table with the longsword and the other knives. He has also puts a long black iron bar with a basket hilt on it with the weapons. "They trained me to be a warrior, hoping I would die. They let me be trained as a bard in the hopes I would displease some lord who would kill me. They trained me to be an assassin and put me in a sport where assassins hunted unknowing marks and watched, bet on every thing I did, hoping I would die. Finally they had me trained in sorcery, and told me it was a privileged, a chance to become a minor Lord and I should be grateful. They had me trained specifically to react wrongly on the Logrus, in the hope I would die. " "I failed to die as an unnamed kitchen rat. I failed to die for them as a bonewarrior. I failed to die for them as a musical slave. I failed to die when I assayed the Logrus. I failed their every attempt to hide an embarrassing Chaosian of the blood of the enemy. Suddenly I was a Lord of Hendrake. An embarrassing one but not one they could easily kill. They had to let adventuring in the Abyss and in Shadow kill me. So when I was allowed to leave Chaos, on my own, I came here, a world well known in Chaos, found the Warrior Rings. It was here that I vented my anger. So can you, till you forgive them."

Amber Bronkhorst

As Vek talks Alvah lays down two daggers and fitting scabbards a short shafted mace with a ring for on her belt and the gauntlets. She then turns to him holds his hands and smiles a warm smile up at him. "And i am very happy that you refused to die by their will and plan. Thanks to that here we are, together." She takes a step closer just holding herslef against him. As she steps back Alvah chuckles. "I have noone to forgive. You think i am mad at people? I'm not... I am just angry in general and it sometimes comes up." She shrugs slightly with a serious face then that familair smile sparks on her face. "Am i mad at mom. No... I get where she is comming from. I don't agree with her methods. Trying to kill your child to win custody and then use her as a weapon.. eh not my choice... And i also get dad... Protection, and wanting to keep me hidden. So no not angry just finding my way and place..." She tilts her head looking at Vek. A slight frown appears. "Doesn't mean i don't need a healthier way to vent my fury rage and anger.... Guess it is just who or what i am."

Michael James Watson

He nods the the clerk, hands his school coin over for the clerk to make a stamp of. Hands the coin back. He gets into the armor bag and pulls out leg armor, elbow armor. Fits it on. Takes the iron bar in his hand, throws the bag over his shoulder. He motions for you to put the rest of your fight gear on, lastly shouldering her own bag, and mace in hand, he puts an arm around her shoulder and leads her out into the street," What ever your anger needs, it can get here. "

Amber Bronkhorst

Alvah looks at Vek first to see how he does it. She then lays out her armor pieces and puts them on as well. Walking with Vek she chuckles. "I know thank you, and i will not break any more necks where i shouldn't. Or well i'll try my best not to. Who knew that armor and weapon shopping can be so fun and a couple thing to do." She winks witha big grin as Vek leads her out of hte store. A moments silence Alvah enjoys just walking so close to Vek. She then starts soft. Not wanting to break a good feeling with her own voice. "So, next stop was the auction right. or well see what is for sale and who the other buyers are? Can we expect trouble there already? or will you start it off slow?" Playfully bumping her hip to his while they walk.
