Veritas Jones[edit]

Birth Planet: Whitefall Allegiance: Independent
Height: 191 centimeters (6' 3") | Weight: 86 kilos (190 lbs) | Age: 34 standard years

Raised a cattle rancher on Whitefall, a farming moon of Athens, Veritas worked a number of ranches and mining operations until he joined the War, where he served as a sharpshooter, making the rank of Corporal. Having worked for Mel before the War, he was one of the first to sign on to the Wanderer. He pulled his Heirloom Six Shooters off of a guy who tried to kill him.

Appearance

A tall, trim black-skinned man with mostly close-cropped hair under a weather-beaten gaucho hat, who's partial to leather vests and chaps over work clothes. He's always got a pair of work gloves folded into his gun belt, which hangs with the insouciant bravado of a gunslinger and sports two pearl-handled pistols.

Notes[edit]

  • I think if I were looking for a happy medium, I'd say make Trick of the Trade a [d8] specialty linked to one of the two skills listed and it lasts for a scene. That is pretty much how triggers treat assets elsewhere. You create the asset (1 PP) but the trigger lets you make that particular asset a d8 asset. And I'm fine with paying a second PP to turn it into an episode long asset (specialty) with all such triggers, just like under the regular asset rules.
  • we can revisit it if you ever want to unlock the Gun Symposium trigger, but off the top I'm inclined to go with single action as the intended duration. Or we could change the wording to have consequences if you're looking for a longer duration. See the Awakened Weapon trigger on the Sleeper Agent distinction or the Always Working trigger from the Married to the Job distinction for examples of this setup for an extended trigger just to get an idea of the possibilities.
