"I sweep my sword and the flock of birds scatter. Fire and water part from the echo of my strike. Dust dares not settle on my blade!"

Overview[edit]

This page is a Lore Sheet for the Sword of Wild Crane, a set of six Wushu Secrets that explosively channel yang chi through your blade. It is a style well suited to those who would have a little magic with their attacks, and for those who are inclined towards offence rather than defence.

These techniques can only be used for physical conflict.

The attack techniques on this Lore Sheet can only be used for physical attacks. Normally, a practitioner must have a sword to benefit from this fighting style, though any weapon that can make one handed slashing attacks and which holds a sharp edge can be used in place. If you are unarmed, you cannot use attacks from this Lore Sheet!

There are no defence techniques on this Lore Sheet!

Arc of Heaven's Slicing Edge[edit]

I cut with my blade, and the air is divided by its passing. The cut moves beyond the attack, and the edge moves further than the blade. A distant enemy falls.

Cost: 2 Yang Chi.

Keywords: Attack; Action; Physical;

Effect: Make an attack with your sword against a single enemy. This attack may be made in close combat, or at any target you can see at least partially within three hundred yards, and have clear line of effect to. Your cut is visible as a ripple through the air that speeds towards the opponent. When defending the target may not use any techniques or channeling in defence that would increase their interference or decrease your accuracy.

Shattering Fire Hammer Technique[edit]

A downwards slice, filled with force. A wave of flame surges forth, shattering iron and wood with my Yang Chi!

Cost: 2 Yang Chi.

Keywords: Attack; Action; Physical;

Effect: Make an attack with your sword against a single enemy. This attack may be made in close combat, or at any target you can see at least partially within three hundred yards, and have clear line of effect to. Your cut is visible as a corruscating wave of flame that rolls forth. If the attack hits and deals at least one point of damage, then you also destroy one piece of equipment on the target per point of damage dealt. This can include weapons, armour, books, items of clothing, etc.

Flock Scattering Gale[edit]

A sweep, and the air moves. All blows away.

Cost: 2 Yang Chi.

Keywords: Attack; Action; Physical;

Effect: Make an attack with your sword against a single enemy. This attack may be made at close combat, or at any target you can see at least partially within three hundred yards, and have clear line of effect to. Your cut is visible as a shimmering of silver energy moving in a wide arc. If the attack hits and deals at least one point of damage, then the target is thrown back a number of metres equal to your wind trigram. Also, everyone within (Wind Trigram) metres of the target is buffetted by a strong wind and loses any stances they are currently maintaining. This strong wind has no other effect on human-sized characters, but is enough to blow aside flames, displace shallow water, scatter debris and blow away birds and vermin.

Lightning Arc[edit]

My sword tip moves this way, then that, and lightning is issued. The storm engulfs my enemies!

Cost: 2 Yang Chi.

Keywords: Attack; Action; Physical; Multi-attack;

Effect: Make an attack with your sword against a single enemy. This attack may be made at close combat, or at any target you can see at least partially within three hundred yards, and have clear line of effect to. Your cut is visible as a crackling arc of electricity. You make an immediate additional attack, but that attack must be using the Lightning Arc technique again.

Infinite Cataclysm Strike[edit]

My sword crackles with power, and moves with deceptive slowness at first, but then all the power of my infinite chi is unleashed!

Prerequisite: You can only learn this kung fu secret if you first master every other kung fu secret on this lore sheet.

Cost: 7 Yang Chi.

Keywords: Attack; Action; Physical; Multi-attack;

Effect: Make an attack with your sword against a single enemy. This attack may be made at close combat, or at any target you can see at least partially within three hundred yards, and have clear line of effect to. Your cut is visible as a blast of corruscating chi. When defending the target may not use any techniques or channeling in defence that would increase their interference or decrease your accuracy. If the attack hits and deals at least one point of damage, then you also destroy one piece of equipment on the target per point of damage dealt. If the attack hits and deals at least one point of damage, then the target is thrown back a number of metres equal to your wind trigram and loses the any stance they are currently maintaining. Also, everyone within (Wind Trigram) metres of the target is buffetted by a strong wind and loses any stance they are maintaining. You make an immediate additional attack, but that attack must be using the Infinite Cataclysm Strike technique again, or with the Lightning Arc technique.

Wild Crane Zodiac Techniques[edit]

Lessons learnt can be relearnt:the sword becomes my hand, and the slicing strike is my kick.

Prerequisite: You must know at least one stance from the Twelve Zodiac Stances.

Cost: None.

Keywords: Continuous; Physical;

Effect: You can still gain the benefits of the Twelve Zodiac Stances when you are wielding a sword in defence, or attacking with a sword in melee, or attacking with a sword at range (including with the techniques on this sheet). Note that you must still buy the stances as separate kung fu secrets!
