Mission Briefing[edit]

"My Information indicates that there has been a major deficit of psyker's from this year's tithings on Scintilla. On any other world, a drop of this magnitude would be a statistical anomaly, but on the sector capital it cannot be ignored. My understanding is that Inquisitor Vaarak is also looking into this matter with teams of his own; I want you to get to the bottom of this first. Also, an interesting find has come out of another of my teams [records show a piece of evidence, found to have xenos circuitry, acquired during an arrest] while investigating a side matter in the Joyous Choir, a new Imperial Cult. The cult is not suspicious on its own, and even has heavy backing from the Ecclesiarchy, but this device is believed to detect psychic power. Finally, a request has come in from an old friend of mine to look into the disappearance of one of his nieces after she got involved in the Joyous Choir.

"These three things together do not look like mere coincidence to me, so you will start your investigation by looking into the disappearance of Saia Strophos and follow your investigation until it meets its end."

-Your Inquisitor

After Action Results[edit]

Arbiter Haxtes uncovered a Serrated Query cell on the mobile city of Ambulon, after peeling away the Joyous Choir as a front for the cell. The primary purpose of the Serrated Query cell was the manufacture and distribute the drug Farcosia, a highly addictive pleasure drug created from a variety of proscribed substances, xenos imported substances, and the brains of psykers. Local Arbites forces led Enforcers on Ambulon to clear out the cell and take evidence into custody. The Joyous Choir was instrumental in the discovery and abduction of psykers for the Serrated Query.

Inquisition investigation has found a few leads from the evidence to other possible cells. The dead body of Theodosia was heavily augmented, and given a heavier investigation into Adeptus Mechanicus technology, we may be able to discover more about where the parts were acquired.

Major leadership elements of the Joyous Choir were purged after the Farcosia discovery, but the lower portions (ones without obvious ties to the Serrated Query) successfully petitioned the Ecclesiarchy to maintain their status as an Imperial Cult. Inquisitorial assets will continue monitoring them, but there was no reason to fight the political battle required to purge the entire cult.

The Serrated Query factory area has been declared off limits, and trusted Adeptus Mechanicus Magi are investigating whether the area can be dismantled or studied without endangering Ambulon.
