As the contestants enter the rink there is a sign over their heads that reads "To those who've gone before". and 3 Pin holes...The signs over each contestant are identical. Any regular patron of this establishment knows that those 3 pinholes represent the 3 people who've died here during Duels...these fights are real, that's why people come, death is real...and sometimes the finality of death over the rush of the fight will outweigh anyone's intentions of stepping foot into the arena...

The match is over before it's started...Perhaps in many situations when the Rules are that you're allowed two weapons and it doesn't say anything else..and on of the parties brings a grenade to a knife fight...you can imagine how it plays out... The swordsman starts off fast and hard quickly making progress over to the Girl Gasser... However she must have had a short fuse on that nade because as soon as he took off she was whipping it like a baseball...not that you know what that is, you've just heard from Earth legends...The swordsman tries to swat it away with his greatsword but it explodes when the greatsword makes contact and after the clouds and dust of shrapnel clear away his body can be seen laying there unconscious and bleeding...The Gal Gasser draws down on him with her pistol mainting gunpoint, but he doesn't move... Medical Crew quickly attends to the man with some more sophisticated medical equipment then Gamora has ever seen or heard of...and that Nova has heard of..but never seen...
