=History=

The Good Blooded Queen Esrina ruled the small Southern kingdom of Hesh. She was a friend to the Realm, and her country was rich in psychotropic plants, Jade, Silver and a secret, First Age Factory Manse. Esrina was a cold beauty, happy with her power. She had several husbands and children, but cared little for any of them.

One of her children was a girl she she named Petra. Some years after the girl’s birth a Soothsayer came to Hesh and told Esrian that Petra would grow to be more beautiful and power than her mother. However he also told her that Petra’s death would spell the doom of Hesh.

Esrina decalred that Petra would never leave her nursery, that she was to remain a child so that she might never become a woman who could eclipse her. Various potions and devices were used in an attempt to stunt the girl’s growth, and she was kept ignorant where not deliberately fed misinformation.

As Petra grew older her mind grew sharper, and while she was ignorant, she was quick witted, and the treatment grated on her. She tried fighting against it, but was punished, or worse, disregarded. Being talked over as caretakers decided to put her in her crib because she was being ‘fussy’ was worse than any smack.

Sometimes Esrina would parade Petra around, as if to say, ‘Surely this over grown child cannot be greater than I’.

Eventually Petra had had enough and planned her escape. The nursery had become more a prison over the years, for Esrina recalled the Soothsayer’s words about what might happen were Petra to die, and the girl was guided well.

Petra had turned eighteen some weeks before she decided to escape. Her sharp mind had allowed her formulate an escape plan.

For the first time ever, she left the Nursery on her own, in secret, her heart gladded by her escape.

However Creation is not a forgiving place for an ignorant, beautiful girl.

In a dark alley in the Capital of Hesh Petra was taken by slavers, who only saw a lost looking girl who likely would bring a great deal of coin. However the men soon realized they had made a mistake, so news of the missing Petra spread across the city and the face that Queen Esrina wanted her back and would kill anyone who was found to have taken part in the girl’s disappearance.

The men argued and fought and one finally took matters into his own hands. ‘Best to run and make sure this one can’t talk.’ He grabbed her and stabbed her through the chest before all of the would be slavers fled in fear.

As she lie there dying a voice echoed in her head, telling her that she had spent her life surrounded by the death of what she might have been, choked off before she might blossom. She was offered life, for the small price of her freedom, her fate and her freedom. Scared of death, and angry at what she had never had, she accepted this.

She rose, clad in her blood stained nursery clothing, beautiful, healthy... strong.

Before her new Mistress’s servants came for her she would destroy Hesh, and her mother. As she choked the life from Esrina she said, ‘I am so much more than you!’ She was crying at the time however...

She was then taken to The Lover Clad in Rainment of Tears, she she bowed down to her. The Lover smiled at her. ‘I shall give you the pleasures and the pains of an adult, and you will become the woman I wish you to be.’

Of course what the Lover wanted was not what the young woman once known as Petra would want, but it would be some time until she learned that.

The Lover trained the new Abyssal in arts of combat and craft and love, creating a brilliant and deadly Engineer, sharpening her already sharp mind. As the same time she planted the the wedges in the Abyssal mind, slowly preparing her.

And on the day that the Lover named her a Death Knight and gave her the Title of The Flower that Will Never Bloom, she used these psychological wedges to fracture Flower, causing the subservient, child like nature of her psyche to raise up and dominate the newly confident woman.

The Lover likely thought it quite amusing to send Flower once more to a nursery. ‘You can draw up diagrams for wondrous Necrotech in your crib as well as any other place,’ she said.

When Flower was let out, her anger made her a useful tool for the Lover. And her mind came up with various wonders for the Lover’s forces.

She was able to build a Soul Steel Royal Warstider, her most proud accomplishment, ruined when the Lover dubbed it the ‘Black Pram’.

Finally tired of it all, Flower once more escaped her nursery, but this time she had her Warstrider and other weapons, as well as a grand plan. She would bloom! Damn them all she would finally bloom!
