Dr. Joan Guan, nee Joan Marie Celeste Beaufort, formerly Joan Drake was born in Lourdes on Bernadette. She worked for Blue Sun Biotechnologies, where she met and married Ephraim Drake. They had two sons: Ezekial and Joshua. Ephraim Drake was transferred to Miranda before the catastrophe, and is presumed dead.
