Kaylob assumed that because Mialissya looked like a gnome, she must be a gnome.  Actually, Mialissya is an incredibly powerful Nymph who saw in Kaylob the heart of a lover of nature.  It was she who made it so that Zipponra would be an owl.  She ensured that she would sire him no children in that time, but she could tell towards the end that this would not satisfy him for much longer, and soon he would need to know why he was not yet a father, and why she never aged.  So, she pruned him from her life, knowing that she’d trained him with what he’d need to know to make his way in the world with only Hyno at his side.  Someday he would bloom brighter thanks to this.
