Secret – Jackie has inadvertently become the mysterious masked heroine Jetgirl.

Temper – Since she's been hassled as the new kid or the foreign kid for much of her life, bullying really sets Jackie off and she'll respond to bullies physically, even when that's not a good idea.


===Background===


A spirited and outspoken  Air Force brat, Jackie learned to love flying and aircraft from her parents.  Her mother is an Osprey pilot and her father the loadmaster on a C-17.  She's grown up in bases all over the world.  Right now, both her parents are deployed in a combat theater and she was sent to the Academy to let her do some growing up in the US.   

When she arrived at school, she ran into some members of the Aerospace Research Club who were working on a kit jet plane.  She eagerly agreed to help them out.  The rest of the plane isn't ready, but the engine was rigged for personal flight tests... her background and the fact that she was at least 30 pounds lighter than any other member of the club made her the test pilot.  

While making a night flight, she interrupted a gang assault on some students and has been tagged as the flying heroine “Jetgirl.”  She has mixed feelings about that... personal flight devices are probably against school rules and definitely violate any number of FAA regulations, so the project has to be kept under wraps, and people looking for a superhero might learn too much.   

Jackie (short for Jacqueline) has learned to take care of herself in the rough and tumble world of overseas military bases... this often involves using one's fists.  She's picked up street fighting techniques on three continents and two islands.   As a result of being picked on so much herself, Jackie has no tolerance for bullies and will lay into any she sees, with harsh words and then fists very shortly thereafter.

Fighting and lots of time spent sneaking into the flight simulators have given her a very well-honed situational awareness... she's quick to react to trouble... some might even say “brash.”  She enjoys shooting as a hobby, but there's no easy access to a firing range for her at school.  She has a paintball gun at least.

She's a spirited and outspoken girl, a little blunt.   Moving around as much as she has means she's never had the chance to have close friends (Much less a boyfriend).  She hasn't thought much about the lack before now.  She's good at sports but hasn't gone out for any teams and is a pretty good student as well, though stronger in science and math than humanities.  

Jackie loves flying more than anything else... she's an aircraft otaku and consumes all media that highlight them, especially military ones... books, manga, video games, you name it.  She has a complete run of Area 88 on her bookshelf, for example.  Her dream is to become an F-22 pilot.  

As to the idea of magic, she thinks that the Harry Potter books are pretty good, but not her favorite.  Still, she's seen weird things in the sky more than once...

Jackie is slender and athletic, a few inches shorter than average for her age.  Her most striking feature are her amber eyes.  She has shoulder-length blonde hair that sees little more attention than a comb.  She eschews makeup and dresses like a tomboy, tending towards T-shirts and cargo shorts or pants, with either combat boots or high top sneakers for footwear.  Her favorite article of clothing is a leather WWII flight jacket replica with a USAF rondel on the shoulder.  She was wearing that and a pair of goggles when first seen as Jetgirl, along with an old-style leather flying helmet.
