The continent of Novos sits on the eastern edge of the Material Plane. It consists of two large landmasses and a mysterious landmass called the Crimson Isles. The Mainlands are mostly fertile fields and forests with towns usually dominated by agriculture, fishing, and trading with the bigger cities nearer to the coast. The cities themselves encompass the full gamut of humanity, with some being beacons of prosperity and equality, and some being ruled by an iron, but efficient, fist.
The continent of Novos sits on the eastern edge of the Material Plane. It consists of three large landmasses: The mysterious and uncharted Crimson Isles, the Mainlands, and the Desert.

The desert's vast expanse of sand and cracked earth contains ancient ruins of lost civilizations and foes more dangerous than the deadly heat of the sun they struggle to survive under. Only three civilized settlements exist here, one being the mining capitol of Novos and the other two being minor trading villages on the southern coast.

Most towns are made up of a very small variety of different races. A town may have mostly humans with a smattering of Dwarves and Halflings. Another town may be made up of only monstrous races like the goblinoid Bugbears and Orcs. Cities, on the other hand, have a much greater diversity in the number of different races, although the typical ones for the area will still be the most plentiful. This rule is simply the norm, however, and both cities and towns can vary wildly in how they behave or react to outsiders or unusual creatures. Some places can even have strange laws or unusual customs that only apply to that one particular town or local area.

Major Settlements
The cities of Novos bear witness to the full spectrum of humanity. Some settlements are friendly beacons of prosperity and equality. Others are ruled by an iron, but efficient, fist.  Cities have a much greater diversity than villages and small towns in the number of different races they host, although the typical race(s) for the area will still be the most plentiful. This rule is simply the norm, however, not the law, and both cities and towns can vary wildly in how they behave or react to outsiders or unusual creatures. Some places can even have strange laws or unusual customs that only apply to that one particular town or local area.

The gods are typically represented by reverently crafted statues that, for the most part, exist within the walls of their respective places of worship. Depending on the size of the church, these statues can vary from the size of a pixie all the way up to statues that would make a giant have to look up to take it all in. When the dedicated enter one of these places, they feel the god's power emanating from the statues and, as one gets closer, it becomes harder and harder to approach until you can no longer continue forward. One must complete tasks and live up to the god's expectations to continue forward. Each statue is in a likeness representative of the god and the energy one feels is representative of their own domains and powers; for instance, the Raven Queen's churches are cold and heavy, yet they are also peaceful because she represents the acceptance of the inevitability of death.
