Jonas Peterson has been hustling on the streets of Detroit for as long as he can remember.  For a smart kid with no hopes of getting an education and no parents worth a damn, it seemed like the natural thing to do.  Jonas got good at making deals and distributing merchandise.  He was strictly a small time operator, but he was a successful small time operator in an unforgiving business.  Jonas partied hard but his world was a harsh one.  He’s be beaten, stabbed, shot, and once almost died for a blow to the cranium with a baseball bat.  Only good luck has prevented permanent damage to his health or roguish good looks.

Jonas never saw the apocalypse coming.  The first time the economy went down the toilet, back before The Brown Sweats, his business only got better.  Unemployed people need something to pass the time and take their mind off things after all.  The disputed election didn’t even register.  Why give a shit who the president is?  It’ll be the same old bullshit either way.  Jonas didn’t even see the end coming when the only thing he could get on the news was plague news from Africa or somewhere like that.  It was sad and all, but it was all so far away, it might as well be footage from Mars.

Then the world went to hell and the United States of America vanished into thin air.  Not once in his life before then had Jonas ever thought of himself as a member of society.  Now the one thing he wishes more than anything else is that society would come back.  Jonas is working to survive and prosper, same as always, but Detroit is no longer any place for a man who works on his own.  Jonas is looking for a team and ultimately, a home.
