If they give glory you can get glory for them otherwise they have their special effect. I'm making a link on the wiki (EDIT: its up) to explain what gives glory, what gets the bonus for high glory and which skills have special effects. You also get a check on any that succeed. |

− | + | Your offices and holdings (including improvements) can give you rolls or checks as well. Rolls are treated as above so if you succeed they can give glory and they only give a check when successful. If you have looked at the chart in Book of the Estate for which stat goes with which office you can get an idea though I do not agree with some of them especially the traits. Automatically checking a trait is a big deal and can really screw up the game. Instead they should be opportunities for you to demonstrate either the trait or its opposite. That means you pick one side of the pair and roll it but if it fails you must roll the other and live with the result.
− | + | Mainly I (and probably you) care about your religious traits so anyone with lands and the Christian bonus should thank me because having land automatically makes you a Marshal and without this ruling you would have to check Proud each year automatically.

+ | You should get at least 7 chances for checks this way each year in your skills and traits. If I call for a specific skill or its appropriate to use it (such as courtesy in a new court or with high nobility aside from the Earl) then you can try it as well. The idea is that this is the minimum and is a good way to go back and get checks in things you didn't get a chance to use in the main scenes. |
