Tropical Shore saw RKO briefly get hold of Lana for one of their own Tiki films, a chance they wanted to make the most of, to the point of naming the character herself LanI. The fictional LanI was the half-Polynesian daughter of Australian Captain Ferris of the tramp steamer ''Southern Cross''.
