In this story arc we meet the main characters. We follow them from their mundane lives into an event that literally changed mankind's history - the terrible events of September 11, 2001. These events had a profound additional effect on the passengers of American Airlines Flight 283. The story opens as the passengers arrive at Boston Logan International Airport all lives bound for LA, all lives bound for destiny. Following the events of the terrorist actions our story jumps 4 years when the passengers of Flight 283 awake simultaniously. They wake comprimised, held by a corporation specializing in genetic testing. Not understanding the events that have transpired and slowly learning they came back "changed" these... SURVIVORS take control of their lives and seperate following an escape cross-country. And soon Jack, Brian, Arthur, Mandy and the Survivors announce themselves to the country in more ways than one.

A melancholy is cast as the Survivors return home for the first time following 4 years of being "lost". For some the homecoming will be joyous, for many it can not be. To paraphrase a poem for this issue's theme... "The winter here is cold and bitter, chilled to the bone. Haven't seen the sun for weeks. To long - to far from home. Feel like I'm sinking and claw for solid ground. Pulled down by the undertow. So it's better this way, having seen this place before. Where everything we say and do, hurts us all the more. Its just that we stayed away, too long. Pulled down by the undertow. Never thought I could feel so low. Oh darkness I feel like letting go. With all of my strength and all of my courage, come and lift me from this place... Full of grace. Full of grace."

"title" | Arc 4

In this story arc

FUTURE ARC IDEAS The changes we make. Like, the first three arcs are he "establishing arcs" on some level, setting up the broad strokes of who the characters are and how they interact with the world, and after that we get into the "coming into our own for the first time" arc.

To my mind, that makes it the arc of positive changes and bettering the world before the fifth arc, wherein our enemies fuck us up the ass, only for us to win back to goodness in the sixth arc, but that's me.

What changes are the survivers making in the world. Not just us but all over. Now that everyone has had time to get home and time for there powers to begin to reveal themselves and to deal with immediate bigotry and then celebrity. Now I think its about time to see how the survivers are choosing to user their abilitys. Who fades into the wood work who fails tragicly who means well but accomplishes little and who moves mountains and erects great monuments for good or ill.

Then I think that just as we are realy getting into the groove of trying to make a difference some weird revliation about our origin would but a spin or twist on that of some kind.

The next arc would be about discovery of where we get our powers and what happened to us. Only to have said quest/introspection interuped by villains kicking our butts and what not.
