Vidkun Trost: Cousins in Shardis

Heofé: Male, Vidkun’s cousin-in-law, ruler of Londe Castle on the north side of Shanis. Heofé is short and slender, with curly golden hair and narrow blue eyes, in his 40s. He enjoys shooting a heavy crossbow for sport. Heofé suffers from an allergy to cats. Not overly fond of Vidkun (though he doesn’t dislike him), but polite due to being related (even if just by marriage).

Wynna: Female, Heofé’s deceased wife (died nine years ago, when she was 28, after falling from a horse) and Vidkun’s cousin. She was six inches taller than Heofé, which can be seen in more than one portrait around the castle.

Aermynn: Female, Heofé’s older daughter (19). Aermynn has braided auburn hair and narrow blue eyes. She is fascinated by magic and arcane and likes to wear a sling of vials and potions, but these are nothing more than scented lotions, perfumes, and mild medicinal concoctions (i.e. she doesn't really know much about magic). She and Vidkun have met socially but found each other nice but not marriage material. Brede: Female, Heofé’s younger (and favorite) daughter (16). Brede has thin brown hair and narrow brown eyes. Something of a tomboy, she likes to hunt and has an animal companion, a brown and white hunting dog named Eren. She bears a striking resemblance to her deceased mother. Vidkun did find Brede much more attractive. However, age and Heofé's preference for the girl meant he wanted a more suitable marriage arranged.

Bertio: Male, Heofé’s Custodian (in charge of castle grounds). Bertio is slender, with long gray hair and blue eyes. He wears modest garments and a large bronze amulet.

Jeha: Female, Bertio’s wife. Jeha has golden hair and gray eyes. She wears fine raiment and jewelry, and likes to put on airs and act more important than she is because of her husband’s employment at the castle. Jeha is given to fits of depression.

Fari: Male, Bertio’s son. Fari has matted black hair and blue eyes, and a messy moustache. He wears tailored clothing and a feathered hat (at Jeha’s insistence). He is a quiet, moody boy in his late teens.

Egyth: Female, Heofé’s Chamberlain (in charge of finances and supplies). Egyth has copper hair and brown eyes, and several noticeable scars on her arms. She wears fine clothing and a necklace with a pendant of luminous crystal.

Freburh: Male, Heofé’s Steward (in charge of household staff). Freburh has thick red hair and brown eyes. He wears well-made clothing and carries a blackthorn staff. Freburh is shrewd and determined.

Inelm: Male, head of Heofé’s house guard. Inelm has golden hair and sharp gray-green eyes, and an unusual tattoo on his arm (half man, half skeleton). He wears chain mail and wields a battle axe and shield. Inelm is compassionate and intellectual.

Burga: Female, Heofé’s cook. Burga has dark hair (that is just starting to turn gray) and green eyes, and is exceptionally beautiful. She wears modest garments and soft leather boots. Burga is cheerful and energetic (and a little flirtatious).
