Victorian to Modern Marvel Differences

Unlike the Marvel's Vision, Argonaut does not possess the power to control its density, shoot lazer rays, or fly. Even with "mad science" as its creator, I felt that a Victorian android powered by a Babbage engine should have more limitations than a modern day android created with super-science.

Backlog

Unit is composed of high-grade steel and hardwood exterior. Inside is an electromagnetically powered difference engine; the result of very early, unrecorded experiments by the unlikely team of Hank Pym, a brilliant yet troubled British scientist, and an eccentric Austrain scientist named Nikola Tesla. Tesla later became an American citizen and was credited with many inventions, and Pym continued to serve the British Empire as a military science contractor. While the whole time, their first daring experiment into A.I. lay forgotten in a lonely, dilapitated S.H.I.E.L.D. supply base. Unit infused with massive amounts of AC currents but thought to be a failure and scrapped. While languishing in storage, unit became self-aware by a process or happenings unknown and unduplicatable. Unit had no programming, much less orders to follow, so it processed whatever immediate information it could find: a set of classical greek mythology books, many back issues of London newspapers, and old instruction manuals for industrial machinery. Perhaps more...

BACKGROUND SINCE

Due to its unique combination of sentience and inhuman strength and endurance, Argonaut has been recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. to be part of the Queen's special force. Argonaut has much to learn of the world and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s offer to team it with other such distinguished individuals satisfies Argonaut's oddly human penchant for adventure and comraderie.

What is your Heroic Motivation?

Unit took the name Argonaut (may end up Argo for short) in reference to the mythical seekers that sailed in Jason's ship, The Argo. Argonaut itself is on an existential journey. Being the world's first known A.I. (though only known to a few as yet), Argo seeks answers and perhaps "humanity" by serving the only parents it has ever known, Queen and Country.

Complications or Character Flags

Argonaut is a new type of being created by unknowable mad science. There may be many strange powers and secrets in Argonaut that it is yet unaware of. Even its creators don't know exactly what makes this Victorian android tick.
