Background[edit]
A promising graduate of Cambridge University, Jared Wright was recruited into MI6, working his way swiftly from an analyst position to a field posting. The sun may have set on the British Empire, but its passing created long shadows, and the Crown had business in those shadows. Most of his postings were in the Far East as protection details, keeping an eye on scientists, politicians and others Her Majesty's Government preferred both safe and observed, preferring to view himself as a hidden protector rather than as a spy.
His Awakening took the part of a mystery play during an operation. A knight escorting a princess through a dangerous forest, they became separated, beset by trolls. Imprisoned, he eventually fought his way out, leaving his mark on the austere walls of his prison before recovering the princess and making their escape.
MI-6's records of the event are filed under Shanghai, Asset Extraction, 2003. And much of his recollection of the operation, which went 'rather sideways' as his controller put it, is incoherent in said record. Since then, he's kept his position, though he was transferred to Singapore. He continues to do his best to protect others, though now there are both more threats, and more secrets.
