Dawton comes from Duckpoint and was a hunter and trader before taking up the way of the Stormbill after losing his first love Bevewy to the evil vampire Repe Sorsa.
 
  
He followed when Repe Sorsa fled the Upland Marsh to the Zola Fel valley and after those terrible events he fell in with Pol Joni's band of horsemen in their fight against Chaos.
