Ten-Broken-Chains seethes against adversity. For in her shattered heart, fear has taken root - a fear of powerlessness, inadequacy, of being shackled and broken. Of returning to those days without a future, without hope - those days living under the lash, and under calloused hands. She will not be forced to bow again. She will never again accept 'this cannot be' or 'you cannot act'. Because to be Exalted is to always act - whenever and however you desire.

This world is broken and wrong. The strong take from the weak, and grow fat from their stolen labours. Violence is the answer to any who ask "please, sir, may I not starve?" - and as horror mounts upon horror, one finds there are fates far worse than starving under jewel-encrusted boots. Ten-Broken-Chains hears the cries of the downtrodden in the haunted aching of her soul. She hears her own cries, bubbling to her ears from years long past, and bites her lip till blood dribbles down her chin. She will tear the architects of such misery from their thrones, and dash their skulls against each and every step she took to reach them. Only then, perhaps, the people will know peace...

Intimacies

She learnt this before she Exalted. She learnt this in Hell. She learnt this from her mentor. To fix Creation, you must first bring it to its knees. And to do that, you must topple its most corrupt pillar: the foundation on which all its evils are laid bare.

• Minor: Garth the Never-Sleeping Warden - Hatred (Tie) [Ambition]

Hatred for a slaver. This is an empty hate. A hollow one. A hatred born by saying "I hate, I hate, I hate..." again, and again, and again. Staring into a shadowed mirror; sat in a darkened room: "I hate, I hate, I hate..." until a malignant seed begins to bloom.

Azimuth Infernal

Exalt Milestone: gained by leading other characters in bloody battle, or if her actions caused an outbreak of violence.

• Corona of Fury

While the Infernal is at her Critical Health level or 4+ Anima, the Breath of War restores 2 motes instead of 1, and she recovers 1 mote between actions during social influence scenes or ventures.

• Unwoven Coadjutor

Infernals develop a direct spiritual connection with the Essence of Hell - a nascent demonic soul that resides within the Infernal. Once per session, the Infernal may ask her Essence in questions to learn about a specific situation.

ANIMA EFFECTS

• Font of War (Passive)

Without needing to roll, the Azimuth defeats her Essence in Extras on her turn, and adds her Essence in dice to damage against battle groups. Additionally, each time she damages a battle group, increase the difficulty to resist a rout check by 1, to a maximum of 5.

• Terrifying Visage (Active)

Add her Essence in automatic successes on any social actions to intimidate or terrify a foe, even foes that cannot normally be intimidated. Any gambits based on fear or intimidation have their cost reduced by one.

• Towering Demon Emperor (Iconic)

The Azimuth may transform immediately into Devil-Body Incarnation without paying the cost. Add her Essence in successes to Close Combat or Physique rolls for the rest of the scene so long as she's in Corona of Fury.

The Great Curse

Incitement

• Someone acts against Broken's Major Intimacy.
• She acts against her Major Virtue.
• Her plans or ambitions are directly thwarted.
• She is obviously outmatched or defeated in a contest or challenge.

When Ten-Broken-Chains succumbs to the curse, she lashes out in a Hellish Eruption. All eruptions last for a scene, her Devil-Body Incarnation forcefully activating for the duration.

Sun-Blind-Snake, a roguish young Infernal Nadir, counts Ten-Broken-Chains among the few friends he has. While he doesn't really share her goals, he's more than happy to push her buttons help her out (whether she asks for it or not) - either because a raging bull is a good distraction, or because one owing you a favour is a very useful thing...

The Nameless Nails: sixty-four spikes of hellish brass, forged in the demon city by its incomparable smiths. When hammered into the efficacious meridians of the body they impart a terrible strength to the recipient – provided she survives the procedure.

• Resources (Tertiary)

While a pittance compared to the luxuries afforded to her in Malfeas, Ten-Broken-Chains can access a measure of Hell-sourced funding while at work in Creation.
