DESCRIPTION

Emerald Spring Wei has long hair, dark green to the point of being almost black. Her eyes are emerald and she tends to dress in feminine and modern designer clothes that are easy to wear. Too boring so far?

Well, when she's out to fight things are different! Not only does she fight with a sword that can extend into a chain-blade (google for "Soulcalibur ivy" if you don't know what those look like), but she wears a black leotard and old urban camo-pants from the chinese army surplus over it.

Still not enough? Then read on and find out the history of the most powerful D-Rank warrior in the Jade Dragon School...

HISTORY

The Wei Industries Corporation. There's nobody in Shen Zhou City who hasn't heard of it (with the possible exception of a handful of greenhorns new in town). They have business in every facet of life; pharmaceuticals, foodstock, fabrics, oil, energy, infrastructure, and even military equipment. If they could buy land from the goverment they could become their own country.

But the daughter of the head of this corporation didn't care for private islands and the jetset. She wanted to learn how to be strong herself, just like the people on tv. He was a loving father and a shrewd businessman, so something was worked out quickly. Famous teachers were paid absurd amounts of money to accept her as a student even as scientists got to work in their TL-lit bunkers.

When both these groups were done they had created a nigh-perfect amalgam of the old and new. She had powerful ancient skills at her command and cutting edge technology at her disposal. She took up a new name, Emerald Spring, because she had green eyes and hair and felt reborn. But her father wanted her to keep her family name, so she obliged him by calling herseld Emerald Spring Wei instead.

Now she's ready to win fame for herself... and spread the Wei name into an untapped market.

NOTES

  • Emerald Spring Wei lacks a Legacy because her family is not one of the Wulin. However, she is built on more destiny than Monkey Princess and could defeat her in a fight without too much trouble. The reason this hasn't happened yet is because Emerald (just like her classmates) overstates the importance of Legacies and thinks she's very weak.
  • The chain-blade is an official weapon, albeit not one in the main rulebook. This particular version actually consists of an elaborate "web" that holds the blades in place. By subtly shifting chi flows and manipulating magnets inside the handle, the sword can extend, bend, or even blossom open into a cloud of swirling steel. Those who are not trained with the weapon are advised to not try this at home, but those who do can cause Entanglement, Disarmament, or Disorientation on a crit.
  • The "leotard" is an advanced polymer that is nearly impossible to cut and slowly reweaves itself when damaged. Because the cost is just shy of a million US dollars per square inch, it was decided to make an armor that covers only the torso instead of a full bodysuit. Hence it looks like a leotard.
  • Emerald Spring Wei has a brother called Dr. Wei Luo Han. He invented Emerald's armor and sword (they use the same polymers) as well as certain other toys. He's inventing for his father's company still, and will have a not-insignificant role to play somewhere in the future.
