Southern born actress Julia Lee is one of Hollywood's fastest rising stars. From television favorites "Buffy", "Angel" and "Charmed" to A-list features like Vin Diesel's movie "A Man Apart" and the skate flick, "Grind", Julia is well on her way to becoming a Tinseltown favorite and a household name. There is something about her girl-next-door looks that has a penchant for landing her in roles that involve the supernatural, ethereal or sometimes the just plain bizarre. (Roles to her credit include a witch, a vampire cult member, a superheroine and the ghost of a 1920's flapper.)

Julia spent her growing up years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, although she's also lived in Minnesota, Baltimore, Orange County and Atlanta (where she was born). She began theater in high school and did the obligatory student version of Our Town as well as The Fantasticks and Into the Woods (which made her a lifelong fan of Bernadette Peters.) Always interested in pursuing her creativity, Julia also played the violin, the piano, took dance, gymnastics, and synchronized swimming.

The daughter of two medical professionals, her father is a respiratory therapist and her mother is a medical transcriptionist. After a summer internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory, her parents expected her to pursue a career in Physics. "Much to their surprise and um, shock, that just wasn't in the cards," says the actress.

Upon receiving her B.A. in Theater from the University of California, Irvine Julia landed her first role (and SAG card) on the cult favorite, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and continued to recur on that show as well as its spinoff, "Angel".

Trivia:

  • Julia just celebrated her third wedding anniversary to husband, Spencer.
  • When Julia was first in Los Angeles she was up for the role of Felicity on WB's television show of the same name and the lead in Dark Angel, which later went to Jessica Alba.
