The town was very small, little more than a collection of huts in the center of fields and fields of crops. It was here that Kaylob first studied the natural world. He would wander as a young boy into the huge rows of corn and wheat, looking for new smells, bugs and anything interesting he could explore. He stayed out all day long, sometimes wandering further than a mile from home, and more than once spent the night wrapped up in a heap of corn ears.
