My version of Memphis is notably stranger and darker than the city in reality, so keep in mind not everything here is 100% factual even when based on real people and places. 


''Prince Mongo'' - This guy is certainly '''something'''. To the public he's known as an extremely eccentric millionaire, although no one seems to know the exact source of his wealth, who frequently runs for mayor and clashes with the city on matters of taste and "freedom of speech". He also claims to be an alien prince from a distant planet. Within the supernatural "community" of Memphis it's widely agreed that Prince Mongo is not merely a human, but no one can seem to agree on who or what he actually is. He owns a nightclub called Prince Mongo's Planet and the 100+ year old Ashlar Hall, a small castle right in the center of midtown Memphis. 

''The Pyramid Arena''- Although no one within the supernaturally aware is certain who is truly behind the construction of the Pyramid Arena it's widely believed to have been constructed by servants of the Egyptian pantheon. The structure conforms too closely to ancient sacred architecture and it's believed to be a functioning Touchstone leading to the Tomb of Kings. Perhaps it was part of some plot to harness the excitement and energy of the audience or the nearby Mississipi river itself...but something definitely went wrong. Numerous issues have plagued the Pyramid and it is widely joked by citizens that the place is "cursed". It no longer serves as a sports arena and is simply sitting empty aside from the occasional concert or event hosted there. This may or may not have anything to do with the crystal skull removed from its rafters in 1991.

-''Dianne Shockley Mall'' The president of the board for the Ornamental Metal Museum and a Scion of Hephaestus. It's known that in a deep sub-basement of the museum she keeps a secret forge manned by a handful of cyclops, although whether these creatures are allies or slaves is uncertain.
-''The Mississippi River'' The city's most obvious and iconic geographic feature. In addition to being powerful and treacherous, it is also the home of several dangerous creatures: giant fish and alligators, some particularly unsavory nymphs, Piasa Birds nesting on uninhabited islands and even a river serpent named "Pepie". Fortunately the river is large and, in the area around Memphis, has enough traffic to ensure that the majority of monstrous creatures are rarely seen. The most well known supernatural inhabitants of the river are the "Mud Court", a group of lesser immortals related to Celtic faeries. They hold celebrations and gatherings on the large bar islands in the center of the river.
