Judy Nesmith

Judy Nesmith.png

Judy is Hana Jeong's best friend, loyally at her side for many years. Judy is extremely smart and skilled with computers, and has access to a great deal of money and the things that it can buy after her mother's second marriage. (Her first is one of the things that brought Hana and Judy close together.)

Judy is calm, a clear thinker, and understands Hana very well. She's become somewhat resistant to fear as a result of being near Hana for years. She carries pepper spray habitually, but is not otherwise much of a fighter, at least compared to Hana. (She's not inexperienced, though.)

Unbeknown to Hana, Judy is in love with her. Judy has yet to act on her feelings in any way that could not be construed as loyal friendship, however, and Hana has yet to show any sign of any comprehension of Judy's feelings, or, for that matter, anyone's feelings of love.

The Jeong Family

The Jeong family are a fifth-generation family of Koreans. (None of them speak Korean or were raised with any Korean cultural values.)

Bae Jeong.png

  • Bae is Hana's father. He works as a plumber, and has re-discovered Korean culture, which he attempts to force the family to emulate. He's studying Korean, as well, but is not even remotely fluent in it. He has tried for many years to get Hana to be more feminine, and less strong-willed and violent, entirely in vain. He's big and loud.

Jae-Sun.png

  • Jae-Sun is Hana's youngest brother, age 17. He now attends the same school as Hana, after she transfered there at Judy's behest. He has a massive crush on Judy. Judy knows this, but has no interest in him. Jae-Sun is intellectual, somewhat passive, and deeply embarrassed by his family.

Chung-Ho.png

  • Chung-Ho is Hana's oldest brother, age 19. He works with his father as a plumber, and is very much like him, although not as large.

Dae-Jung.png

  • Dae-Jung is the middle brother, aged 18. He's finishing up school, and considering a career other than plumbing. He's very short, and sometimes more belligerent in compensation. On the other hand, he's protective of Hana and Jae-Sun, and encourages Jae-Sun's crush on Judy.

Hana's Gang

While the majority of Hana's past followers went their own ways after Hana and Judy left Bales House School, a number of them have followed the unlikely pair even to Ashford, although most of them are not students of that prestigious school. Current followers include:

Malika Dasti.png

  • Malika Dasti, age 15. Malika is in a state of perpetual rebellion against her family's traditional ways, and dresses like it. Her race made it hard for her to be as readily accepted by many of the other girls, and so she was pleasantly surprised to discover that Hana simply didn't care. She regards Hana as a role model of a tough girl rebelling against her family, and is eager to impress her with her energy and occasional use of a blunt instrument. Sometimes over-eager. She doesn't quite understand why Judy doesn't reciprocate Jae-Sun's feelings, but on some level, wouldn't mind if Hana's brother happened to notice the cute Pakistani girl who hangs out with them.

Sorcha Burr.png

  • Sorcha Burr, age 17. Sorcha was always a top contender for toughest of the Bales House Girls, and then Hana came. At first, they fought. Many times. Sorcha was impressed by the younger girl's strength and skill, even more so by the chilling gaze she opened fights with, but what finally converted her from foe to follower was simply Hana's courage-- it quickly became clear that nothing scared Hana-- not being outnumbered, not fighting boys, not her parents, not teachers, not police... nothing. Sorcha doesn't like to admit it, but she's a bit of a romantic at heart. As such, she's wondering how long it's going to take for Hana to respond to Judy's crush... why can't Hana see it? And why wouldn't she act on it?

Chloe Dunstan.png

  • Chloe Dunstan, age 15. Chloe doesn't seem much like the kind of girl who'd hang out with Hana-- she's almost obsessively girly, dressing in frilly pink clothes, talking about cute things constantly, and even wearing cat ears in an effort to look cuter. She affects 'cute' speech, as well, and will often behave childishly to get attention from others. Needless to say, none of this would have gotten her any acceptance into Hana's gang. What did the job is Chloe's unexpected vicious streak-- in a fight, she howls and laughs, flailing around with a club with a maniacal brutality that takes almost everyone off guard. Nobody knows why Chloe wants to hang out with Hana's gang, and she never says.

Emma Fox.png

  • Emma Fox, age 16? Emma never talked much at Bales, instead staying close to whoever would tolerate her. It became clear quickly, after she attached herself to Hana and Judy, that she'd follow them around for all hours, doing what they did, and would even fight alongside them with eerie silence. She would often come to school with bruises and even cigarette burns, but wouldn't talk about it, and never told anyone where she lived. In the past few months, it's become clear that Emma has actually run away from home, but she doesn't live on the streets. Instead, she stays with various members of Hana's gang on a more or less rotating basis. (She rarely stays with Judy, as she's uncomfortable with Judy's new wealth.) Since Emma won't talk about it, the gang doesn't generally discuss it, but they all work together to help her out as best they can.

Blue Thornberg.png

  • Blue Thornberg, age 16. Blue never answers to her real name-- but then, perhaps it's just as well. Having a "Hannah" around would probably cause problems. On the other hand, Blue has never hesitated to cause problems for Hana. She has challenged her decisions frequently and loudly in the past, and tried to usurp her position in the gang, although she hasn't made that mistake in a while. Given all this, it's very surprising that she followed Hana to Ashford Academy... but she did.

Grace Skeffington.png

  • Grace Skeffington, age 17. Grace is Sorcha's best friend, and has been for several years now. While most of Sorcha's gang were less than enthusiastic about becoming Hana's followers, Grace didn't hesitate. She's clearly much more Sorcha's follower than Hana's still, but even she can't deny that Hana is tough and magnetic. Grace is also noteworthy for being the member who has had the most boyfriends. She has never had a relationship last longer than a few months, though.

Ruby Smithson.png

  • Ruby Smithson, age 16. Ruby came to Moorshire Lake to live with her aunt and uncle after her family was killed in a car accident two years ago. A Londoner, she didn't react well to living in a smaller city-- when combined with the loss of her family, it's no surprise that she didn't fit in well, and wound up falling in with a bad crowd. She's generally hostile and abrasive to everyone-- even her friends-- but in turn is extremely fast to defend them from anyone who says or does anything against them.

Tilly Hazard.png

  • Tilly Hazard, age 15. Tilly doesn't talk about why she tried to throw herself under a speeding bus when she was 14 under any circumstances. She doesn't acknowledge her past life at all-- even in the face of teachers talking about how much she changed from the cheerful, friendly, obedient girl to the sarcastic, rude, black-wearing gang member she abruptly became. But since Hana pulled her out of the path of the truck, Tilly's been following her. She even returned to her habit of studying hard to get into Ashford Academy to get to join her-- a detail that makes Judy eye Tilly cautiously. How close does she want to get to Hana?

Mila Kusanagi

Mila is an exchange student from Japan. She is an elitist and mean-spirited girl. She is also the heir to a fortune. Her family is the Kusanagi clan. They are a top ranking family in the Yakuza. As the heir to the family, Mila is trained in the traditional Karate of the Kusanagi clan. She had all of the best trainers and all of the best schooling. Everything has been handed to her on silver platers.

Mila is now involved in a conflict with Hana Jeong. A fight is scheduled to happen in the near future. As Mila is a sword expert, she has decided to take this fight to a dangerous level.

Mila is believed to have some form of dark magical powers.

Libby Stevenson

Libby Stevenson is a complex girl. Craving all of the attention she could gather, even in her younger days, she always tried to make herself look better than everyone else. It worked for a while.

Then came Jenny Marinia. There was never anything that made Libby despise Jenny, she just didn't like the girl. She began to tease her almost immediately. That all changed when Libby coaxed Jenny into a swimming race, off the record of course. Libby had nothing for Jenny as she handed Libby her first loss in quite a while. Of course, Libby's self esteem could not take this and is now trying to find a way to ruin Jenny forever.

General Andres Phillipi

General Phillipi is the first human to accept the power of the Nihls. This makes him a very old being. He looks like a man in his mid-thirties (As a side note, anybody infused with the power of the Void or Creation will have a life expectancy double or triple the human norm. That means that all of the PC's will live to be between 150 to 220 years if not killed first. As the Scion of Time and Entropy, General Phillipi uses his power to be virtually immortal). His power is only matched by the Nihls themselves and various creatures in the Forces of Chaos.

Phillipi is a cruel and sadistic man. He lost his humanity thousands of years ago and thinks in a purely Nihl fashion. He has no mercy and will kill without hesitation. As commander of the current invasion of Earth, he expects the same type of ruthlessness from his subordinates. Anything less would be fatal.

General Phillipi apparently somehow knew where the girls were, through either mystical or mundane means. He also recognized Hana, causing her to suspect spies, although a darker cause is possible.

Alice

Alice runs the homeless shelter that Sara Aldred stays at. In her youth, she was a magical girl, and has passed her powers on to Sara. She is very knowledgeable about the Nihils.

Headmaster Ashford

Headmaster William Ashford is the headmaster of Ashford Academy. His family built the school and has ran it for it whole existence. He's also a member of the Special Defense Ministry and has always watched for certain students who may exhibit powers of the Scions of Creation. He is a stern but kind man who expects the best from his students.

Headmaster Ashford is Bobby Cutting's contact in the school with MI-13, and is somehow aware that several of his students may have magical powers.

Scott Weston

Scott has always had it rough - born to a lower-class, teenage mother and her alcohol and gambling-addicted father. His mother did the best she could, but as he grew up, his grandfather became ever stronger in his disapproval. Once his mother died, he couldn't stand it any more and ran away.

Sara met him on the night she first ran away from home - he was the one who showed her the streets - which places were relatively safe, which places to avoid. And he believed her when she told him about the monsters. But by that time, he was spiralling into a depression. On the night Sara first received her powers, he was about to commit suicide... until Sara spoke to him, told him how thankful she was for helping her, and that he was far from worthless. Since then, he has taken to helping out other kids who find themselves on the street, and is one of Sara's most trusted contacts... and maybe something more.

August Pettibottom

August Pettibottom is a kid living on the streets in Moorshire Lake. No one really knows where she comes from but it is rumored that she is actually the heir to a fortune. The rumors vary from she lost her parents and is thought dead as well to she ran away on purpose. August herself is a well-mannered girl who is always kind to the other kids.
