      • Young One was one of those spirits that was never born. At the birthing time, she was with the other calfs, but she was so playful, so interested in gambolling about in the snow, that it was only when she tired that she realised there was no young one for her to inhabit any more, they had all been taken. But Old Joni* (the shaman) was watching over the herd and Old Joni wouldn't just let a calf be left in the snow like that with no body to inhabit. So she told Noaidi, who was then still a young woman, to make a calf doll out of straw and tufts of fur, then she sang a song to Young One that told her Noaidi was now her mother.
      • Young One increases Noaidi's First Aid skill by one grade (or 20% if we wish to make it simple). She will lie with the patient, keeping them warm, licking their wounds, will snuffle at the wounds to tell Noaidi what is wrong and so on.
