Novos (Continent)

The continent of Novos sits on the eastern edge of the Material Plane. It consists of two large landmasses and a mysterious landmass called the Crimson Isles. The Mainlands are mostly fertile fields and forests with towns usually dominated by agriculture, fishing, and trading with the bigger cities nearer to the coast. The cities themselves encompass the full gamut of humanity, with some being beacons of prosperity and equality, and some being ruled by an iron, but efficient, fist.

The second large landmass is almost completely desert, with vast ruins and dangerous foes. Only three civilized settlements exist here, one being the mining capital of Novos and the other two being minor trading villages on the southern coast.

Most towns in this world are made up of just a few different races. Maybe a town has mostly humans, with a smattering of Dwarves and Halflings, or maybe it's made up of monstrous races like bugbears and Orcs. Cities, on the other hand, will have a much greater diversity in the amount of races, although the normal ones will still be most plentiful. As ever, this rule is just for the norm and both cities and towns can very wildly in how they behave or react to outsiders or unusual creatures and some places can have strange laws or unusual customs.

Religion

In Novos, the gods are represented by giant crafted forms, such as statues, that generally exist within their respective church's walls. When you enter one of these places, you will feel the god's power emanating from the statues and, as you get closer, it becomes harder and harder to approach until you can no longer continue forward. You must complete tasks and live up to your chosen god's expectations to continue forward. Each statue is in a likeness representative of the god and the energy you feel is representative of their own domains and powers; for instance, the raven queen would be cold and heavy, but also peaceful and comforting because she represents death and its inevitable finality.
