Sources of Stability:

  • Symbol - A Hammer and Sickle Pin - The symbol of his young exuberance of his homeland, before it was corrupted by his experiences.
  • Solace - Illy, his old handler - A "retired" spy helped train him, helped to shelter him a few months after being burned.
  • Safety - Sarajevo Safehouse - A reinforced bunker beneath a hotel that has stood for greater than a century, appropriated in an op over five years ago.

Pillars of Sanity:

  • Any Man can make a difference
  • Science can hold the truth of all things
  • Friends are scarce, but true friends you can rely on

Nikolai was a highly promising agent in the Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti, a technical expert and occasional wetworker. An error beyond his control turned a simple op into an international incident. He barely survived the fallout, and was hunted fiercely by his former friends and allies. He fell off the radar, and began to have a hermit-like period of discovery in which he explored his childhood interests in diverse sciences. Then the man in the suit came. He could return to his former kind of work, for something more promising than the vices of his superiors. Little did he know there were far worse things in the world.
