Signature Style: Confidence


1: Heaven Recoils

A simple trick - Ping briefly imprints her desires onto the air around her, which immediately jumps back in fright. This pulse of terrified sky is most useful when timed right.

  • Treat yourself as one range category further away against one

ranged attack.

2: Act on Instinct

Even with her body broken Ping will not give up. She will walk with cut tendons, fight with broken bones, and even keep slaying while already unconscious!

  • Ignore wound penalties this round.

3: Make My Own Road

The Dao may control the life of the common man, but who ever gave it authority over Thrice Radiant Ping? Obeying metaphysics is for those too weak to take responsibility over their own fate.

  • Add 2 dice to an Awareness roll to overcome a Curse or Influence.

If the Interval of the Curse or Influence is not measured on a timescale where the expenditure of chi is meaningful to track, simply always add the extra dice.

4: Stronger Than The World Where others fall wounded in battle, Ping prevails through conviction.

  • Add your Gold Chi Modifier to your Armor against a single attack.
  • If that attack causes the Knockback or Down result, you may ignore

these.

5: Stronger Than Heaven

Although Heaven took precautions to prevent a second Kuafu, it is said that they nevertheless prepared an executioner just in case. When the offensive human is captured this divine torturer will inflict terrible fates upon her: Deprived of her belongings and clothes. Shackled in unbreakable chains. Humiliated before the world. Burned in the sun's rays. The eyes cut out. The limbs torn off. Forced to kowtow before him. Thrown across the jail like a ragdoll until the bones are as dust. And finally discarded into the Avinci Hell. Heaven needn't have bothered; Ping is prepared.

  • For the round you are immune to the combat effects of Burning,

Down, Embarrass, Knockback, Maim, Terrify, Blind, Disarm, Entangle, Grapple, and Stun. If such effects are ongoing while this technique is activated they are ended.

  • Flaw: Laugh it off. Using this technique requires a free action,

which you use to openly mock the pitiful attempts of your enemies to harm you. Megalomania is not required here but certainly encouraged.

6: Walking Outside Fate (6 Gold + 4 Any Chi)

Quiet as the Void, Ping steps entirely out of the weave of Fate. Whatever fragments of destiny claimed ownership over her are severed. For a short duration, Ping decides as sole monarch what Fate has in store for the world.

  • For 3 rounds per rank achieved (3 at Rank E, 6 at Rank D, etc.)

anybody in the scene may not spend Joss of either kind if Ping does not desire it so. This usually means she and her allies can spend Joss and her opponents can not.
