Personal History

With five other siblings, Saya is the second-eldest daughter (and third eldest child) of one of the main Keibi branches, a small clan but renowned as great warriors thanks to their chakra-manipulation techniques. It was these innovations that brought them to the attention of the ruling clans, the Kurosawa, who eventually took on them on as their clan of choice for bodyguards (and, it is whispered, enforcers). To everyone's delight, the Keibi have succeeded at this grandly. In a family with such a long and glorious history, it's very hard to stand out unless you do something beyond amazing. Mere excellence simply isn't enough. Even so, Saya's going at it full-throttle to give it a shot.

At the heart of every Keibi there's a deep guilt over allowing the Great Betrayal (as it's known by more melodramatic older generation), something that while was not the Keibi's fault was also technically their job to stop happening as it did to their charges, the Kurosawa clan. No Keibi has sworn to see to it that they'll a) ensure it never happen again or b) they'll bring the perpetrators to justic - it's implied by being a child of the clan. It's something Saya carries with her always.

Family

The Keibi are a mostly matriarchal family, their techniques working for whatever reason better on women than men. Thus those that Saya has to live up to are invariably her female ancestors, and most recently her grandmother and mother. Her grandmother Keibi Sachiko died during the Usurpers' attack so that her Kurosawa charge could safely escape and no Keibi could ask for more. Saya's mother, Keibi Suki, is renowned as one of the most talented in her family's techniques in generations and is the personal bodyguard to Kurosawa Asagi's father. A kind, attractive woman with many admirers, Suki loves her daughter very much, though it's normally shown through putting Saya through exhaustive training. As a sidenote, though the Keibi are not known for their tempers (tantrums with super-strength are generally regarded as unsuitable to the landscape), even the merest hint of Suki becoming cross has been known even to send the Kurosawas into a panic.

Personality

Saya's a gregarious, likeable sort who makes friends quickly and fights for them just as fast (whether they need it or not). She's not a terribly complex person when it comes to matters of right and wrong. At school, she does exceedingly average in her studies, but really excels when it comes to sports - only a second-year but already the captain of the girl's soccer club.
