GM: You’re making casual conversation with a man named Ned Stark about guns in general, the merits of this and that. Ned had asked you to take him to your indoor firing range and test out a pistol he’d been debating purchasing for his son’s 13th birthday present. Not much of a gun man himself, Ned insisted you fire the weapon to test it for him. You obliged, loading up the weapon’s clip and sending off a target paper while putting on ear muffs and goggles. Not much business had come today, just enough to pay rent for another day, so you weren’t worried about missing any customers. The target paper reaches the end of the course and a red light buzzes overhead, signaling ready. As you raise the firearm, you hear the echoes of a distant conversation between two men. It takes you a second to realize that you shouldn’t be hearing anything at all after you put on the ear muffs, so you lower your weapon. Ned looks at you quizzically. You look around the range, double-checking to make sure you and Ned are the only ones present. Suspicions confirmed, you decide you are alone. The conversation grows more audible; however, you’re still unable to comprehend what the men are saying. A few seconds later, you realize the reason: They’re not speaking English. You listen closely to the conversation, but the only possible conclusion you can draw is that it sounds like it is a vaguely Asian dialect, though one you’ve never heard before.

Then you blink.
