It's a strange feeling, having these things above us, hiding the sky

What things, branches?

Assault of Mal'tock

Day 3 of Assault of Mal'rock, morning

The dwarves talk quietly amongst themselves.

Ratko doesn't see why they should fight here. Chancing their lives here is not wise. What if they die and leave their herd and wives to tend to themselves. They should offer a few goats to the attackers in exchange for letting them take a barge home. Darin doesn't have a wife and his goats belong to his uncle, so he shouldn't be making emotional decisions.

Jurno sees the wisdom in this, but he doesn't want to jump to conclusions. He likes Mal'rock and a trading friendship appeals to him. He can't be sure the gnolls will keep their word, and there are still the dozens of crocodiles to pass through.

Darin doesn't want to run. He likes Mal'rock and a trading friendship appeals to him. A gnoll bit off his hand and he's not ready to trust the word of a bunch of them. He's actually blood-thirsty and wants to fight.

Dwarf in the party. If there are more dwarves on the island, the Lemini could invite them to their talks. More dwarves, bigger the chance of getting out of Shaema alive.
