I want to use an alternate timeline where the Vinland colony was a sucess . More settlers came, and the Norsemen went south down the waterways of eastern N.A. and built trading posts and timber strongholds as well as small farming towns. After 1066 many Saxons fled England for the New World. Irish monks came over to Christianize the Skraelings. Magic works. Probably use rune magic for the Norse, miraclous [and rare] effects for some Christian clerics, and shaman magic for the Skraelings. Monsters would be drawn from both native and Norse traditions.
