Quick and Dirty: 

So I leave LA for Podunk Mississsippi, aka Natchez, cause the damned Gios are after me.  

I got hired by  shiksa (a Ventrue named Eliza, whose got a sister also Vamp Toreador Evangeline (doubtless there’s an Electra, Elethea, Eulimene, Ellipses, and Euranassa somewhere) to check out a private eye (a.k.a Ms. 38) who’s sniffing around Vamp Business in Nathcez.


Turns out 38 was hired by some Malky who’s somehow convinced that he ain’t a Vamp, but either a PI, Vamp hunter or crime novelist, depending on who you ask. Turns out there’s been some Vamp murders they want checked out. 


The prince is a right bastard named, get this, “King” Cotton. He predates the Civil War. His Sheriff’s a Black (really Dark Black) mofo, one of Cotton’s former slaves named appropriately enough, Midnight. .More on him in a bit. 


In and around town there’s also some Tremere, (er. Nature witches) a couple more Tori’s, a Nozzie deputy, and a socialite that just became a ghoul only nobody’s bothered to tell her that. 

So me, 38 the socialite and a couple of the Vamps (The Novelist, the Deputy, a Nature witch, Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker) do the Scooby Gang thing and track down the killers.  Turns out, as I suspected, to be a bunch of runaway ghouls whose Master had gotten himself deadified. 


That’s the regular bits, now for the weird stuff. 


The aforementioned Master Vamp (“The Professor” some Tremere. Doubtless Skipper and Gilligan are somewhere nearby) wasn’t entirely gone. Someone had warded his house against Vamps and also warded all the mirrors in the house so he can’t leave. Who the hell does that? To make things weirder the mirrors were warded with the Hateshepsut  tomb (Type 27) ward from JJ’s old notebook. That’s hasn’t been seen in 3000 years. Also, according to the Prof, Sheriff Midnight did the deed. 


And for those keeping track, Midnight is supposed to be a Nozzie, but he isn’t ugly and isn’t hiding his appearance by Obfuscate, funny that. His skin's also still pitch black after supposedly being a Vamp for 150 years, yea right. 


We get the ghouls, Midnight decides to go all scorched earth and not only kill the ghouls, but their human families and I suspect a couple of other folks just for good measure.  Three kids burned down just for the hell of it as I see it. 


One last thing.  What in the name of The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus do people not get about a human sacrifice laid in the foundation of the Temple of the God of Messages?  All those little tithes, prayers for safe delivery, hopes and dreams passing in uncounted thousands to and through the edifice; each meager in itself, like water over the prayer wheel, yet when gathered, coalesced, directed by Will would be a potent source of energy for any Mage
