Jack Mercer (human) was born in New York City, and signed up with a merc company in his early 20s. Worked in fun places like South America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He's divorced, and relocated to Seattle when his ex died, and is trying to raise his 10 year old daughter

He tries very hard to be a good father, and to keep distance between his work and his family.  It's easier since he only needs 3 hours of sleep a day, and he gets that while she's at school.
