Tazy is the daughter of Colonel Edward Gorden Laird of Halloway and Kory a Nazzadi Arcanotech adviser. They had met at the end of the First Aranco war when Edward was attached as an Intellignace officer and was tasked with debriefing the defecting Nazzadi soldiers and techs.

Tazy was born a few years later. She grew up in a stable family keenly aware from an early age what would be expected from her as Laird and the idea of Noblesse oblige is a central part of he existnce, but dispite this her mother also made sure that she found an outlet for her self something outside her responibiltes that she could enjoy. When she was able to she decided that she would follow in her mothers footsteps and become an Aracnotech, she graduated with good grades. However she felt that althrough she had great intrest in the subject she need to acknowledge her duty and signed for a tour of duty in the military.

It was here that her life would take another sudden shift. The unit she was assigned to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, during operations in the Fulda gap area the unit was suddenly attacked by the Migou and communications where lost with the command elements. The Disorganised forces began to fall back and where on the verge of collapse when a Junior officer began to advance instead of retreating. As the other soldiers looked on in shock a voice began to sing over a comm channel. "Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled, Scots, wham Bruce has aften led, Welcome tae your gory bed, Or tae Victorie!"

It had the desired affect rarther than be out done by a young women the other soldiers took up the song and counter attacked and succed in driving the attack back. For her courage she was awarded a commedation althrough some officers where warery of the recklness of the action. Her farther however was deeply concerned about the recklessnes of his only child and pulled strings secretly to have transfered from combat operations to support.

Tazy was deeply shocked when she was transfered, and after some thought applied for the Engel project thinking that it was a way to contiune to fulfil her duty and follow her own intrests.

Tazy is deeply driven by a sense of duty to her friends and her people. However she is also highly Impulsive some would say reckless often taking the quickist way to solve a problem.
