It wasn't too long ago that Jennifer Applegren had been on top of the world; she'd finally made Varsity on the cheerleading squad, and Eric had finally shown signs of noticing her! Of course, that was before all the craziness started; now she's making do with her half-remembered Girl Scout training and hoping beyond hope that anyone else made it through . . .

Sometimes, things just take a turn for the worse; you finally manage to get that bike you wanted, but then the world decides to end.
You still have the bike, sure, but that does you no good if there's no one else around - a lesson Jake ("Just Jake") is learning, the hard way.

Luke Cabbot always knew it would come to this. All those weekends spent in survivalist training with the Montana Free American Militia prepared him for the fall of civilization. Of course he was expecting it to be caused by an invasion from those slant-eyed Commies, or possibly all those rap video's finally triggering the urban gangs to finally destroy everything. This? Well... he was a survivor. If only he had all the supplies from the shelter he had dumped his life savings into.... or even knew where the hell he was.
