''Five generations ago, the civilized warriors of the North let a triumphant army to liberate the people of the South from a bitter and heavy yoke. At that time, the holy and peaceful Kingdom of Anan was established.  In the generations that followed, propriety and wealth came to all who settled there.  The twin cities of Anan and Tenaar grew to gleaming jewels of light and learning in the South, whose influences and riches flowed unhindered to the North.
